Well, I'm Ash's human mama.

What can I say about me?

I love my animals, I love my pets, and would never want to live without them.

We have an entire houseful of kids and furbabies. Stay tuned to meet them all!

We'd been looking for a friendly fur baby to add to our family. Searching high and low, Kijiji, Craigslist and everywhere else we could find.

We had the perfect dog in mind. The one that would fit our family perfectly. He would have to be black (of course). High in energy, and lovable to boot. You wouldn't imagine the nightmare it was to try and find him!

One day I logged into Kijiji and there he was. The perfect pooch for our family. He was well socialized and loved kids (a requirement in our home). The family who had him had to get rid of them (much to their heartbreak). With a promise of frequent updates and pictures to help mend their broken hearts, we brought Ash into our home and into our hearts.

One of the things I have always been taught is when you rehome a pet, you need to rename them. You need them to have a new name they attribute directly to you.

At this point in time, our lovely male cat Phoenix had gone missing, he had been gone for almost a month by this point. We had pretty much given up on him ever coming home. (He came home last week actually!)

And so, my husband, upset at the loss of Phoenix, decided to name our new family member Ash, since he was coming in to help heal the loss of our little lost kitty cat.

Now months later, the name has stuck, and I couldn't imagine any other name fitting him so well.

Ash loves to run. He loves to bark and he LOVES to wrestle (much to the dislike of our female Gaia)

He loves his daily walks, and he loves cuddling up at night time.

Most days he seems to think he's a cat, and pounces all over the furniture just like one!

And his most favorite thing in the world, dancing for COOKIES! He just loves his cookies, and his food LOL.

I believe anyone who has pets is blessed. And Ash has blessed us in many ways. He is a loyal and loving pet and we couldn't imagine life without him.

I hope you enjoyed his lens, as much as we enjoy him.

Although I don't think we'll ever know what went wrong that hot summer day, you'll always be in our hearts. I choose to remember my beautiful pup that loved to run, loved to dance and loved to love. I miss you everyday, and probably always will. The house seems so empty without you around.
