Ashoka: The Social Change Organization, Network and Community

By helping social entrepreneurs across the globe, Ashoka drives social change. Ashoka supports the long-term solutions for every large-scale issue. From youth empowerment in India and Brazil to community development in Poland, Ashoka is there to support and connect the social entrepreneurs that develop these world-changing ideas.

Ashoka only invites the best-of-the-best to become fellows, where they are supported, not only financially, but by a network of social entrepreneurs who share solutions, resources and ideas.

Changemakers
Ashoka's Changemakers initiative was created to help Ashoka fellows and social entrepreneurs, around the world, communicate by sharing resources and solutions.
Ashoka's Youth Venture
Youth Venture helps teams of people start new youth-led organizations.
Full Economic Citizenship (FEC)
Ashoka launched the Full Economic Citizenship (FEC) initiative to support the development of new solutions for the two-thirds of the world living in poverty. Ashoka's goal is for every individual to have the ability and choice to play a role in local and global economies, as consumers, producers and creators of wealth.
Citizen Base Initiative (CBI)
Ashoka created the Citizen Base Initiative (CBI) in 1997 to help citizen sector organizations diversify their financial base so that they learn to become sustainably rooted in their local constituency instead of remaining dependent on foundation and government funding.
Law for All Initiative
Ashoka's Law for All initiative works with social entrepreneurs and partners from the public, private, and social sectors to defend changemakers, encourage pro bono legal culture, and foster access to justice.

Can you name a social entrepreneur who has created widespread social change in their career?

Someone working throughout their home country (not just in one city or state), or perhaps across multiple countries? Someone highly respected and considered an expert in their field? Someone like Wendy Kopp, who founded Teach for America, or Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia.
