Marbella - the classiest resort in Spain

Marbella is often called the jetset resort of Spain, the California of Europe, the place where the rich and famous hang out, especially in the super chic marina of Puerto Bánus.  The sun shines 320 days per year and there is something for everyone, young or old.

Don't miss the picturesque Old Town (Casco Antiguo), opposite shady Parque Alameda and the marble walkway to the beach with statues by Salvador Dali.

Marbella Views

Some of my own photos from Marbella

Marbella is known for the famous jet-set marina of Puerto Banus but also has its own marina in town and another fishing port/marina, el Puerto Pesquero.

There are children's playgrounds on the beaches and throughout town, especially in Parque de la Constitución and Parque Arroyo de la Represa, also home to Europe's only Bonsai Museum.

Some of our favourites

Beckitt's, camino Jose Cela (behind Skol) - Irish chef, very popular restaurant
Ristorante da Pino, Paseo Maritimo - Italian restaurant owned by Pino and Arturo
La Red - on the beach, go down the stairs opposite Pino and turn left
Toni Dalli on the Golden Mile - the famous opera singer often sings for his guests. Delicious Italian cuisine overlooking the Mediterranean, partially open-air.
Dalli's Pasta Factory, Avda Fontanilla
El Burlaero - Spanish cuisine, next to Parque Alameda

Actually they hail from Montpelier, France but who cares?

I remember hearing their music for the first time in a shop and buying the album within one minute. I saw them perform in London. Even my 5 year old son loves dancing to Volare, Bamboleo and other hits.
