savor the sweet taste of giving

Share your encounters with the pleasures of empowering others.

From the lens How To Raise Money For Charity.

Fundraising, volunteering, and donating - all of them ignite joys to be found in doing good works. All are multiplied by relationships within your cause.

You only lose energy when life becomes dull in your mind.
Your mind gets bored and therefore tired of doing nothing.
Get interested in something!
Get absolutely enthralled in something!
Get out of yourself!
Be somebody!
Do something.
The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself,
the more energy you will have.

Raising money for charity is so hard with the world struggling. I had to stop a friend giving so much to charity as she was unemployed and nearly homeless. Giving to charity is great, I firmly believe in it, but I still think you have to get a balance for yourself. Your lens is great :-)

Its a big question that how to raise money for charity? if every citizen consider his/her social responsibilty towards underprivileged people then money raising can't be a problem. By the way car donation can be a great way to arrange money for charity. Car donation doesn't mean to donate a brand new car, you should donate your old aged car and it would provide you tax deduction benefits too.

great lens... we need more advocates for planned giving. Just like organ donation and living wills our families should know what charities we support now and with what we leave behind. I would also recommend "Circle of Giving: Donors' Stories of Wisdom" by Janet K. Ginn for the planned giving book list.

I have and always will do charity work. My sister is deaf and I started collecting for charity events to aid the "Royal Association in aid of Deaf People" at an early age. I still help with certain functions and fund raising events and help the elderly a couple of days a week with gardening and outdoor tasks. I think the more help we give others the more help we receive, obvious really!!!!
Great lens and heart worming to read of such kindness to the cause. 5*
