I was a lucky cat
I was at the shelter for less than 48 hours
I don't remember a lot about my short stay at the Humane Society. I do remember a kind lady cleaning my cage and giving me lots of great chin scratches. I was a lucky cat, I didn't stay at this shelter long. This same lady, I think she worked at the shelter, brought a little boy in to look at cats. It was January 21, 2004. It was my lucky day since the young boy fell in love with me instantly. We went into the cat play room to get to know each other and 20 minutes later I was on my way home with my new boy.
Oops I got ahead in my story. I was one year old when my first family moved and had to give me up. I had lived with small kids and a dog. I'm a long haired cat and when I was taken to the shelter my fur was really matted, I was dirty and oily and very thin. I was a gift to my first family and they just didn't know how to care for me and didn't have the time.
A few days after going home with my new family I looked like a different cat. The mom would brush me and cut the matted fur out. The boy played with me. I had an unlimited supply of glitter balls since the mom did work at the shelter and she bought new toys for for almost everyday.
My new family had an old dog named Tara. We got along fine. She didn't play with me but it didn't matter since my new boy, his dad and mom played with me a lot.
I got good food that tasted so good. I always had to eat cat food that upset my tummy and wasn't very good. I started filling out and looking healthy on this new food. I went from 8.5lbs. to 10lbs in about 6 weeks.
Now our family has grown to 3 dogs, me the king of the pride, a finch (that I can't get near) and 4 fire bellied toads (they have a fancy name but they are just little frogs)
I love my dog brothers, especially Riley the big goof dog. Scotty also came from the shelter I was in and he used to be my best bud until Riley was adopted a few years ago. We are one big happy family.
I know for as long as we are all alive we will be together. My mom knows having a pet isn't an experiment, we aren't disposable, our live is in her hands and she takes that very serious.
I'm a cat....
I do cat things. Here are my favorites.
- I love to sleep on top of the 30 gal. aquarium and watch the frogs. I can't get to them because of the full glass cover but it's like cat TV
- I spend about a hour a day trying to figure out how to grow wings so I can fly up to Brent, the finch.
- I love to jump on Riley's back and have a good game of catch me if you can. I trick the big goof everytime by dashing into the basement. He can't get through my cat door.
- Sleeping in the sun is always a good cat thing to do.
- Sometimes I help my mom type emails. My feet are really big so it's hard keeping my toes on the right keys. Mom always blames all the typos on me!
- Glitter balls are still my favorite toy. I've lost about a hundred of them but I still have a steady supply of new ones.
- This should be #1 -
I love it when my people are looking for me, going through the house calling Bob over and over. I just stay where I am thinking "Hey I'm a cat remember? You come find me" It's so great everytime I do this. Do they really think I'll come running to them like those goofy dogs? Now if it's time for my supper...

I love everyone so give me your best meow, bark, chirp or what ever you speak
I am Bob the cat. I'm one happy kitty and would love for you to leave a note. I'm raising money for the ASPCA so please do some holiday shopping here and help the animals that have been forced to start over with new families. They aren't all as lucky as I was.
