Introducing... Sasha and Harley!

About my babies

Meet Sasha and Harley. My year and half old Bull Boxers. These dogs are the sweetest and most loving dogs I have ever had the opportunity to know. They are brother and sister. I picked Harley out when he was one week old, then Sasha when they were four weeks old. They love to play and give love. Anytime I feel sad or had a bad day they just look at me with their cute puppy eyes and my worries just melt away. I had a hard year last year, and just knowing that I was repsonsable for them helped me through it all. Dogs can not make it on their own and they need me to feed them and give them the care and attention they love so much! My dogs are often misunderstood because they are half pit bull. I find myself trying to educate people that just because of the breed does not mean that it is an attack dog. I find that my dogs are nicer to other dogs, people, and kids than some neighborhood little dogs, or also considered "safe" dogs. I wouldn't trade my dogs for any other breed. They are very loyal to me and they love to meet other dogs on play-dates and have fun!

Great YouTube Videos

PETA's Goriest Video

Sorry this video is grotesque and might offend some people. I'm not sure if I should take it down or not. Let me know what you think. I'd like to express support for animal rights, but not sure what kind of video to use. Humane Society also has videos. Also, check out my favorites of cute animal videos. I favorite some of the best ones. Thanks. -------------------------------- All comments about peta won't be approved. If i could find a humane society video to put up i would. ------------------------------------ Here's a database of videos and a catalog of cruelty free companies at: http://www.peta.com/ http://www.peta2.com/index.aspx -------- This video is what I can get. This video is not to complain about peta, that is getting old, we all understand not everyone agrees with some peta methods. There are hundreds of other animal organizations available that you can support. You don't have to be veggie-head to support animal rights, there are many ways to. Peta uncovers a lot of animal torment. Support animal organizations you like. Know where your money goes, shop cruelty free, fair trade, products that support organizations, etc. You can shop from websites that support animals and charities. You can buy gifts for ppl this way they sell everything. Support eco friendly small business ma and pa shops, local shops, local charities, farmer's market, local, local, local ETC. Please: NEUTER AND SPAY, do not breed. if you want a pet, adopt or foster from animal shelters and rescue organizations. You can do an internet search. Do not buy from irresponsible breeders. Support animal shelters and rescue organizations. -------- There are many books/resources on vegetarian & vegan, online resources and recipes. For some, decreasing meat, or eliminating hard meat ie beef pork, etc might be easier. There is "humanely, organicly raised meat." Chances are high you will lose weight & decrease allergies. There are many vegetarian versions of meat. Youtube keywords: vegetarian meals, recipes, vegan meals , recipes, etc. Vegetarianism is not only for humane reasons, others might do it for religious reasons, personal reasons, health reasons, to "cleanse" the body, etc. Go at your own pace and what you feel comfortable with. -------------------------- There are many other societies such as: ASPCA http://www.aspca.org Humane Society http://www.hsus.org Humane Society website has prewritten letters you can email, phone calls to make to protest against animal cruelty. Really easy to do. ----- negative/rude/sarcastic responses won't get approved, don't bother wasting your time here. Watch/debate videos/discussions that interest you instead. Thoughtful responses from all points of view ok. No one shoving vegetables down your throat, so if you don't like it, move on. PS animals & plants aren't the same --biology ---- Paul McCartney said if slaughterhouses had glass windows, we'd all be vegetarians. If you want to check out positive aspects of vegetarianism and animals, there are some great videos here on YouTube. There's a video of someone taking care of a pet cow. But be aware, there is also a horrible realistic side to animal slaughter/torture for profit that is hidden from public view. Check out vegetarian/ vegan recipes on YouTube. ----------- Websites about having pet cows and pigs: http://sybilsden.com/cow/cowmain.htm ------------- Some people say why bother saving animals when there are people to save. I don't agree with this argument due to its' fallacy. There are many different avenues to go in life; some choose to save the animals, some choose to save the environment, some choose to save people. it's ALL RELEVANT. Everyone has different interests, the same way some people choose a certain career, a certain hobby, etc. To each their own. If we keep with this mentality- that one thing is worth saving more than the other, there would be no one for the environment, no one for people. Just because you put your effort with animals doesn't mean you don't or can't put your efforts with people or the environment. It's ok if you choose not to because everyone has different interests. Eating cows dogs pigs cats, is all the same. Our culture stigmatizes us to think one species is more important/ has a "higher quality" of life than another. Buddhists think animals are important too, and that this world is interwoven, and not separate. **Don't forget to check out my links above** Thanks. Take Care.
