The patented system consists of two nested boxes. The top box holds non-absorbent safflower seed litter pellets. It has a slotted floor to allow the flow of urine directly into a covered, removable collection reservoir housed in the bottom box. The reservoir holds up to 24 ounces, so it only needs to be emptied once per day. A slotted scooper picks up everything else! May I suggest to always wear eye protection when emptying the reservoir? I had a HORRIBLE cornea infection caused by bacteria in cat urine getting in my eye! It was the most painful thing I had ever experienced, & I could have lost my eye if I had not been properly diagnosed on time. Posted December 21, 2007 |
