Introducing...The Furry Creature

Made from the furriest and pinkest stuff on earth

Welcome to the Furry Creature's ASPCA page. We love the ASPCA and do everything we can to support them and their efforts to fight animal cruelty and abuse.

Animals are very important. Because we're the ones with the thumbs, us humans are responsible for helping the less abled creatures who share the planet and its resources with us. Every effort matters and impacts the animal kingdom and often the environment, too. Donating time or money to an animal charity or sharing your home with an animal in need are big ways to help. There are smaller, easier ways to help, too. Sign an animal rights petition. There are several laws pending approval in many states. Signing a petition (or better, sending a letter to your policy makers) takes little time but can bring in huge benefits. ie, in Illinois there is currently anti-animal fighting legislation under consideration. One email to a policy maker could tip the balance and end dog and cock fighting. Happy dogs, happy birds, happier society, voila, the world is a better place. Jail and fines really do deter crimes like this. Small effort, big changes, safer animals. A real life example: Petitions and small donations from thousands of caring and concerned citizens led to the airing of a commercial on CNN which raises awareness regarding the Polar Bear crisis and global warming. Small effort, big impact.

If you can adopt an animal and take on the responsibility of a pet, the personal rewards are impossible to articulate. Companionship, affection, loyalty and loads of laughs and cuddles are just the start of what's in store for anyone who invites an animal into their home and heart.

If you cannot give an animal what it needs - time, affection, shelter, food, health care and a safe, nurturing home - please consider the alternative of donating time or money to a local shelter or animal care facility or sending emails to legislators and signing petitions.

A little bit about the cat behind the fur...

He was a shelter kitty looking for someone to play with him and a safe place to live. It was love at first pounce and every day we had was a treasure.

Unfortunately was diagnosed with Lymphoma in June of 2006. He put up a good fight and gave the disease an enthusiastic and determined battle, but in the end, even though his spirit was still willing to fight, his body could no longer handle the medications.

I wouldn't trade a single minute I had with him, and encourage you to let a shelter pet into your home and heart.
