Introducing... My Dogs!
I have two lovely, fuzzy children named Scooter and Emma J. Here are their stories.Scooter was found under a bus at a bus manufacturing plant in town. He was rescued by a kind worker (Gary) who noticed him under a bus that was about to be moved. Gary and his wife, Janie, could not keep him, so they went to a local pet store and to see if anyone might be able to give him a home. If they couldn't find someone to take the little fella, he was going to have to go to the pound. :(
Well, the owner of the pet store called me. She asked us to come and meet someone. I'd mentioned to her getting a puppy for my son, but that was more plans for the future than right away. Anyway, we went. And he was just so darn cute! He stole my heart away with his quiet demeanor and precious little face. So after a night's thought, we met Gary and Janie back at the pet store and took his little fuzzy butt home.
Emma was a bit of a different story. I'd began volunteering with the local animal shelter, and it was my first Saturday walking the dogs at PetSmart. I'll never forget the moment I saw her. She was standing with her back to me, and I was admiring the color of her fur. It was a chocolate color, and just stuck out everywhere! When she turned around and looked at me, I thought she was the most beautiful creature I'd ever seen. Her eyes were so blue and her face so expressive. Not to mention she was sweet. I wanted her. BAD.
Well, getting her was another story. I didn't really think I'd have room for another dog, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I just might. There's always room for one more. ;) Scooter was SO lonesome during the day while we were away at work and school, and it just started to feel horribly cruel not to have him a friend in the house. So I took him to meet her, and they hit it right off. :D They ran and played and seemed to have a great time. We adopted her that weekend from her foster mom, Susan.
They are both wonderful additions to the family. I wouldn't trade either of my silly dogs for the world. There's nothing better than coming home to Scooty's little pom-pom tail wagging, or Emma standing up to give a hug. They truly fill our home with joy.
More About My Dogs...
At home, Scooter usually just wants to lay down beside you and get his belly rubbed or his ears scratched. He LOVES to give kisses. He likes for you to throw a ball and let him get it, but then he wants you to wrestle him for it. :D
Emma, as big as she is, thinks she's a lap dog. She loves to be held. She spends a lot of time on her back feet, and uses her front paws like hands. I'm not completely sure she knows she's a dog. But that's ok. :D
