This lens supports the ASPCA in their fight against animal cruelty. You can help provide financial support to their efforts by building a lens about YOUR favorite pet...

Pet lenses are a great way for all of us to show off our babies AND support the ASPCA!

We are all aware of the problem of strays, and unwanted animals at the door...begging for food or crying to come in out of the cold...

Supporting the ASPCA, and being responsible pet owners will help alleviate this dilemma...

It's so EASY to become a part of the solution, and not perpetuate the problem!  Read on to find out how sharing the love helps end the trauma and drama of homeless animals!

Meet My Grand-Kitty, Smokey

I love Smokey as much as I love my boys, but my daughter will be quick to point out that I am NOT Smokey's mom...I'm his Grand-Mom!

I love him like he's mine but I am so proud of her devotion to her baby, and I'm completely content to call him my Grand-Kitty. Can you see that he is an Ohio State Buckeye! He looks good in scarlet and gray, doesn't he?

Smokey Lives Here

Bootsie & Max Animated

I love to draw, so naturally I had to create a picture of my boys!

I started out drawing with a #2 pencil, worked my way through acrylic...now I'm loving every minute of computer aided design. Drawing pictures and telling stories about the adventures with my boys provides me the opportunity to continually explore my love for art, design and handmade crafting projects.

I encourage you to explore the wonderful world of putting your thoughts on paper... it's great fun, and your adventure might take on a life that's bigger than you ever thought possible!

Bootsie, Max and Smokey never imagined that they would have their very own piece of virtual real estate. They are very happy to be living in the same neighborhood as the ASPCA... what better company could kitties keep than with people who have the heart to help rescue homeless kitties?

Yes, Squidoo is a good neighborhood and we are all proud to be part of the community!

Max, My Beautiful Long-Haired Prince

This little guy is royalty and he KNOWS it!

He's quite the discerning little feline...he has his favorite people, and they are few in number. I'm particularly blessed am I to be his favorite human!

Cat Breeds

A cat breed is an infrasubspecific rank for the classification of domestic cats. A cat is considered to be of a certain cat breed if it is true breeding for the traits that define that breed. Various cat registries around the world record and certify the pedigrees. Only three percent of owned cats belong to a cat breed, and an even smaller percentage of those are suitable as show cats. A registration certificate proves that a cat belongs to a cat breed by showing the cat's pedigree back to at least four generations. The whole concept of cat breeds is a relatively new one. Two hundred years ago there was no such thing, however today there are almost one hundred cat breeds. Varieties of domestic cat can also be identified by characteristics other than breed.

See selective breeding for more in-depth detail on purebred animals.

Babies Grow Up So Fast

Here's a trek down memory lane; that's my baby girl, and my baby Bootsie.

Baby Max

Meet Grace, Our Newest Family Member

The last thing I had on my mind this summer was to adopt another kitty, but there was no way I could turn my back on a helpless little kitten. She was only about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks old when she arrived, so you can imagine how my mother's instinct immediately rose to the occasion of a baby in need!

She has been a wonderful addition to the family. She's a little bundle of non-stop energy, and she doesn't hesitate to demand that Bootsie and Max get up and play with her.

They weren't too impressed with her in the beginning, but now that she's been here for a while, they have come to discover that she's actually not that bad. In fact, she's a whole lot of fun, and they are beginning to remember what it's like to chase after anything that moves.

It's hilarious to watch them all, and I'm so thankful for the love of my animals. They are a gift, and I love them very much!

Bootsie, Sleeping Peacefully

He loves my reading table, a soft piece of shurpa, the warm light from a little lamp, a good book. Yes, my Bootsie knows how to embrace the good life!
