My Dog, Henry

Henry spent three weeks in the San Antonio pound with matted fur and a heartworm infestation before a foster mom took him in, cleaned him up, and got him treated. A month later, after months of looking for the right dog, I stumbled across his picture and fell in love.

Henry is a poodle mix - my best guess is a Bich-Poo - and about 2 or 3 years old. He loves everyone, dogs and people, and is always ready with a friendly bark or a sloppy kiss. His entire body wiggles and twists when he's happy, and his cartoonishly big eyes make his moods easy to translate. He's a graduate of intermediate level obedience classes (he looooves his obedience classes), and will do anything for a treat, a rawhide or a toy.

My darling boy is a perfect example of an adoption success story - there are so many great dogs, cats and other animals sitting in shelters that just need a good home and a person to love them. I know that Henry is grateful to have a new life and I'm grateful to have him in mine. His goofy grin brightens every day.
