Introducing... My Pet!

Quite the expressive one

We adopted Clyde from the Anti-Cruelty Society. When we first held him at the shelter, we noticed what a nice soft coat he had and he was the one for us. You can still see a scar on his left eye; the people at the shelter said that he and the other cats from the home he came from were sick when they first arrived at the shelter and Clyde had scratched at his eyes. The day after we adopted him, I was anxious all day to leave work early to go pick him up and take him home.

It didn't take him too long to settle into his new home. Now, he keeps me on my toes. He's not your typical sleep-in-his-spot-leave-me-alone cat. Sure, his spot is a computer chair covered with two fur-covered blankets. But once he hears our alarm in the morning, he's in the room meowing until I wake up and he follows me around the morning routine. He's got a crazy side, he'll see you walking in his direction and stop, get up on his hind legs, shake his head "MMMRRROOOOWWWW" and take off.

He also likes to sprint from one side of the apt to the other to his own delight and for only a reason known to him. He used to crawl into grocery bags as soon as we unloaded them, but I think one incident has marred him. One day he crawled into a bag while we were watching tv and found that he was stuck in one of the handles trying to get out of it. He ran like lightning from one end of the apt to the other trying to get it off. Coming back from the second round, the bag was still around him but was shredded from his claws running back and forth, so he just sat, staring at us sadly terrified wanting help. Now, he loves to jump and lay on empty bags, but takes caution when venturing inside.

His naughty side, he knocked over a fish bowl or two in his addictive curiosity for the bettas. We had a casualty. The other one, Jaws, was moved to a more unreachable location.

In a nutshell, that's Clyde. But there's so much more to him!
