To get to know cats it takes to live with them. I have lived with cats all my life, they have been my best friends. I've never ever had a mean cat, because I believe that cats, very much like dogs form their personalities according to the way they are raised. My cats are as sweet as honey, love to be pet, cuddle with me and talk to me as well.
Introducing... My Pets!
Sophie & Tony

There are the attraction of the neighborhood, because they walk on a leash. I don't hold the leash much like you would do for a dog, but the leash is a life line for them, since I use it more to hold them if necessary or even to spot them.
So, in so many words, Sophie and Tony are indoor cats that are used to go out 2-3 times a day with a harness (around the shoulders) attached to a long leash. (cat's are not supposed to be tie with a neck collar like dogs to be walked with a leash, because they would choke as easily as you would.)
They love the outdoors, but I tried to raise them understanding that the outdoors are dangerous and meant to enjoy only a couple hours a day under my supervision.
So they are looking forward, everyday, to go outside, but when it's time to go home, it's time to go home.

Sophie And Tony Like To Travel

Tony is so calm riding a car that he lies down on the back seat the whole trip. For security, I always made sure someone sits on the back seat with him in case something happens.
Sophie doesn't enjoy the ride as much so she rides in her carrier.
Tony and Sophie have been in 3 different hotels and one bed and breakfast.
When you want to travel with your pets it's important that you find hotels that are pets friendly. There are quite a few out there, and they are as good hotels as any others.
When I travel with my cats, I make sure I pack the litter box and the eating and drinking bowls.
Don't ever leave your cats in a car in the summer even with cracked windows on a cloudy day. Cars get hot, and your cat could be over heating in just a few minutes.
Travel with your cats, but always be safe for you and them.

What Do Tony And Sophie Like To Eat?

Tony likes dry food, but Sophie really doesn't and actually eats people tuna every day. She also loves chicken, and just about any kind of meat as a matter of fact. She also likes butter, tomato sauce, and ice cream.
As for Tony, as I mentioned, well he does like his dry food a lot and doesn't even care for fresh meat like chicken or anything like it. He does like Parmesan cheese and ice cream, though.
I would say that Tony is definitely a bigger eater, but Sophie is the gourmet of the two.
Some people might say that my cats have weird taste, but, hey, with moderation why not enjoy!

In Need Of Foster Families For Abandoned Pets.
For the last six months, many pet adoption and rescue centers have experienced a dramatic increase in pet abandonments. The majority o these rescue and pet adoption centers were established by and are operated by volunteers. These centers are in dire need of pet foster families. What does that mean exactly? Could you be a pet foster family, opening your heart to a pet in need?
Becoming a pet foster family does require that you spend time with a new dog or cat, taking time out of your busy schedule to feed and walk your foster pet, and to attend adoption events in the community. In most cases, the rescue or adoption center will provide ALL medical care, food and other needed pet supplies.
An Adoption Story From North Carolina
Michele and Steve found six puppies abandoned and needing urgent care. They worked with an independent adoption agency and became foster parents while permanent homes could be found. While it was challenging to divide their time between six puppies, they found the experience rich and rewarding. "It was so rewarding to see them all heal and thrive. It took a lot of work, but all they needed was some love," explained Michele.
What do foster families and adoption centers are looking for in a permanent home? Michele says" We wanted to make sure the family was willing to take care of the dogs for life, that the pet would become a part of the family."
Would you be willing to become a foster family for an abandoned pet in need?

- Cats are as attached to their owners as dogs are.
- Cats care as much for their owners as dogs do.
- Cats are very easy pets to move and travel with.

- You can train cats to be bathed.
- Cats don't like to be alone, but rather enjoy company.

You Can Bathe Your Cat
Yes, you can bathe your cat. Sophie and Tony take their bath once every 1-2 month.I stated bathing them when they were 12 weeks old and they have became used to it.
No, they do not like water, though, but they do fine. they stay still until it's all over.
The best thing to use to bathe your cat is baby liquid soap or cat shampoo. Do not use adult human stuff.
once bathed, make sure you rinse your kitty thoroughly as you know cat lick themselves and you don't want them to ingest the soap.
