We are training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

A couple of years ago a friend, and Grandfather, Albert Winsor, was diagnosed with Leukemia. He completed several long months of treatment successfully and had about a year and half of remission. This last fall he underwent more treatment and is still struggling to keep the disease from reoccurring.

Last January, a friend and Mother of nine children, Paula Winsor, was diagnosed with Myeloma. Myeloma is a blood cancer that affects the bones & is more commonly known as bone cancer. Through out this last year, she has fought the battle & is now in remission, but is still greatly feeling the affects of treatment.

This last October, our friend and classmate, Nancy Johanek, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Nancy and her fiancé, Nathaniel, were expecting their first child, a little girl, when Nancy was diagnosed with cancer. Nancy was also attending college, had just celebrated her 20th birthday and had the great life that every young woman should. However, when Nancy was diagnosed, the disease progressed fast and aggressively. Nancy fought the disease with all the strength she had, until November 30th when she lost her unfair battle. Nancy and her daughter now rest with God.
