Aspect Patterns are Cool....
Aspect patterns are figures of three or more planets in an astrology birth chart. They are cool because they change from day to day so everyone has different patterns made from different planets - to delineate someone's patterns is to identify the flow of the planets' energies which makes that person unique. I spent an enjoyable nine months looking at many celebrity charts to see what were the common themes in the lives of people with particular patterns involving particular planets. I ended up writing 392 delineations that are now being used by AstrolDeluxe ReportWriter to create fun and educational interpretation reports.
Understanding aspect patterns
Examples of aspect patterns are the Grand Water Trine or the Cardinal T-Square. The picture above shows how Tom Cruise has a Kite pattern which is a variation of the Grand Water Trine - Pluto in Virgo opposing the conjunction of Jupiter and Chiron in Pisces gives the pattern a focus.
I used the AstrolDeluxe ReportWriter program feature - Options, Research Charts, Search Three, Aspect Patterns together with Halloran Software's $59 file of 4600 Famous Charts to find celebrities who had tight versions of aspect patterns with particular focus, reaction, or pattern planets. The program allowed me to exclude charts that had a lot of other patterns, as well as saving to a new charts file just the people who had a particular pattern for easy recall later. It was quite gratifying to see the effects of particular patterns and focus planets play out in the lives of the chart subjects. I was able to observe consistent themes repeated for each of the focus planets, including Chiron (but not the asteroids), in biographical essays about the celebrity subjects.
Some subjects had very clear signatures, such as animal and nature lover (and winning dog sled racer) Susan Butcher with her strong Cardinal T-Square focused on Neptune (within three degrees of the 4th), where the Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, and Chiron are the T-Square pattern planets that closely square Neptune. [Dec. 26, 1954, 7:20 PM, Boston] It is fascinating to watch in her life as unworldly Neptune drives her further and further away from civilization.
Aspect patterns confirm the traditional meanings of the planets, but the patterns are independent of which reference frame the astrologer uses, so an astrologer can make them an important part of his or her repertoire regardless of the type of East or West zodiac or house system that the astrologer follows.
The number of patterns in the average chart is four or five, but it ranges from as many as seventeen patterns to as few as zero patterns (in three percent of charts). Some lives feature much change, others follow a steady course. The fewer the patterns that you have, the closer the descriptions should fit you.
Sample aspect patterns interpretation reports for President Obama, John McCain, and Warren Buffett.
