Aspen Snowmass ski resort consists of four world-class mountains with over 4100 acres of skiable terrain for every level of skier. It's a town surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural scenery found anywhere.
Snowmass
Snowmass is located within the White River National Forest next to Snowmass Village and 9 miles from downtown Aspen. It's best known for its wide-open, groomed cruising and it is rated one of the best family ski areas in North America. The slopes a relatively uncrowded with only two people per acre on average.
Snowmass has an annual snowfall of 300 inches/762 cm with snowmaking capabilities for 230 acres. The summit elevation is 12,510 feet with a base elevation of 8,104 feet giving a vertical drop of 4,460 feet. There is a massive 3,132 acres of skiable terrain with 91 ski trails measuring 147 miles with the longest run at 5.3 miles. These served by 24 ski lifts.

Aspen Mountain
Aspen Mountain is located as well within the White River National Forest and it rises up from downtown Aspen. The mountain is best known for its steep bump runs that drop right into the town of Aspen. The slopes are relatively uncrowded with an average of three people per acre.
Aspen Mountain has an annual snowfall of 300 inches/762 cm as well as snowmaking for 210 acres. The summit is at 11,212 feet and the base at 7,945 feet giving a vertical drop off 3,267 feet. There is a skiable terrain of for 673 acres with 76 ski trails over 64 miles served by 8 ski lifts. The longest ski run is 3 miles.

Aspen Highlands
Aspen Highlands is also located within the White River National Forest and is 3 miles from downtown Aspen. It is best known for its steep, big-mountain Highland Bowl, Olympic Bowl and Steeplechase. The slopes have two people per acre.
Aspen Highlands has an annual snowfall of 300 inches/762 cm and snowmaking for 110 acres. The summit rises to 11,675 feet with the Highland Bowl topping 12,392 feet. The base is at 8,040 feet giving a vertical drop all 3,635 feet. The skiable terrain is 1,010 acres with 125 ski trails over 84 miles served by five ski lifts. The longest ski run is 3.5 miles.

Buttermilk
Buttermilk is located within the White River National Forest, is 3 miles from downtown Aspen and 6 miles from Snowmass. Buttermilk is best known for being an excellent learning mountain for new skiers with unbeatable grooming. There are long, wide groomers at West Buttermilk and steeper rolling runs at Tiehack. It's slopes have an average of 4 people per acre.
Buttermilk has an annual snowfall of 200 inches/508 cm and snowmaking for 108 acres. Summit elevation is 9,900 feet with the base at 7,878 feet giving a vertical drop off 2,030 feet. There are 470 acres of skiable terrain. 44 ski trails run for total of 21 miles with the longest run at 3 miles. These are served by 9 ski lifts.

The Code For Skiers
- Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
- People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
- You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
- Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and avoid others.
- Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
- Observe all posted signed and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
- Prior to using any lift, you must have knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.
