    Hi-i!

I just had to recommend this page to a friend, because she said how she loves Pippi!

This is simply the best page on Astrid Lindgren I ever saw. THANKS A BUNCH!

Pippi Longstocking was a childhood favorite. So definitely a shout-out for Astrid Lindgren!

Ha! I grew up reading and watching "Fifi Brindacier" (that's how they translated her name in French". But I was unfamiliar with the rest of her author work!

I haven't thought about Pippi Longstocking for awhile! I remember reading a couple of the books when I was a child, but none of Astrid Lindgren's other books. I never saw any of the movies either. I'd like to now! Fun lens to read!

I've never read anything by her, but I really, really must. The books sound fantastic.

    Wow! :D

Thanks, so much for educating me about a writer I've loved since I was seven years old! In Canada I used to watch episodes from the original Pippi television show. When I came to the USA, I couldn't find any mention, so I wondered whether it had all just been a wonderful dream.

Much, much later I rediscovered her & held her close to my heart. The American attempt at a Pippi movie didn't really do it for me. But, as an adult, I bought a copy of SOUTH SEAS & still dip into it for a brisk jolt of sanity! :O)

The library's also given me an opportunity to view the old movie & episodes of the TV show. I knew Ms Lindgren wrote other books but had no idea how many! &, it's gratifying to learn that she had such an amazing effect on the world. Aww, how I wish I had known that she had been with us until so recently.

People who are down on the world should remember that there have been people like the great Astrid Lindgren! :D

BTW, I've just put up a couple of lenses about another wonderful writer, Eleanor H. Porter. Well, actually, they're about POLLYANNA--I love the book & all the movies that came from it! Hahaha! Please, check out my lenses. I was thinking of doing one about Pippi. But--if you don't mind my saying--I find the competition a little intimidating. :P

I did not realize that Astrid Lindgren had written so many wonderful books. Have always loved Pipi Longstocking. Great tribute to the woman and her books.

I'm sure I read many Astrid Lindgren books growing up - just can't remember which - they were all in Dutch. I don't think I was much of a Pipi Longstocking fan though.

I grew up reading Astrid Lindgren's books, and I think they shaped my life! Deep, sometimes scary, and simply wonderful books. Make children think, in an enjoyable way.

I never cared much for Pippi but when I ran across Emil I fell in love with Astrid Lindgren's books. I love the Children of Noisy Village and Rasmus and the Vagabond. What a writer. She sure does know the way of children.

I absolutely LOVED Pippilongstocking when i was growing up. We only had one book: "Pippi Longstocking" and I read it over and over and over again. I wanted a hollow tree like she had that I could turn into a secret hide away.

Still do come to think of it.

I've not heard of her but she sounds a wonderful writer. Books are so important for young children. Wonderful lens.

I "grew up" with Pippi! In Germany, her name is Pippi Langstrumpf. As a little boy, I used to make me a large platter of sandwiches, settle on the couch, and read a Pippi book from beginning to end in one session while filling my stomach. This was my favorite past time and it made me quite a fat kid. 5*s for this great trip down memory lane!

Astrid Lindgren is one of my fave authors! I read her Pippi books as a kid and I still love them today. On my Bookshelf lens I talk about all my favorite books that I loved as a kid ans still love reading today, I had included a section just for her books.

This is such a freat lens! I love it!
