An Overview Of Astrology
The significance of Sun, Moon and Ascendant
The most important of them are The Sun, The Moon and The Ascendant or the Rising Sign. To an astrologer, these three can be said to form the tripod on which your life and personality are based. An astrologer takes your personal data i.e. your date of birth, time of birth and place of birth, and then he interprets the same. Every planet is associated with certain functions.
The Sun: This represents the conscious mind, the vitality and the ego. A strong Sun makes you outgoing, authoritative, perhaps a tad theatrical and creative. On the negative side, you can be haughty, overly willful, self-centered, and judgmental.
The Moon: The Sun acts, the Moon reacts. Your instincts, habit patterns, and unconscious drives are determined by your Moon. What kind of home you prefer, how you relate to women in general, especially your mother. If the Moon is strongly placed in your horoscope, mood swings tend to be more pronounced and you will be more likely to consciously make decisions on the basis of hunches or feeling.
The Ascendant: The Ascendant is one of the four angles of the chart. The other three are the Descendant (directly opposite the Ascendant) which affects the type of people you attract as partners., the Imum Coeli (IC) which shows something about your early home life, and the Midheaven (MC) which affects the over all direction of your life.
The Ascendant represents our physical appearance, our physical bodies and overall health, and the body ego. Forecasts based on the ascendant regarding life circumstances and immediate future is amazingly accurate, more so than the so-called sun-sign predictions commonly published
