It was long ago when the last enlightening episode of COSMOS ended. I still remember. We headed outside as the screen faded and the credits began scrolling on the television. Carl Sagan, host, producer....

It was a crystal clear night so we laid on our backs in the yard. We pointed, and in silence, we pondered.

That was more than 25 years ago when PBS ran the original 13 part series, COSMOS; A Personal Voyage. We know much more about the stars now than we did back then, but there's still an endless number of questions to answer. What's really out there? Why?

For me, it's not a question of "if," but when we'll make contact. I got my telescope. How about you? Who knows, maybe we'll be the first to see them coming.
