ASUS 24 Inch LCD Monitor - The Best Gaming Monitor Of 2012

The Asus 24 Inch LCD Monitor that I have is the model VW246H and it is what I consider the best gaming monitor of 2012 and is one of my favorite pieces of computer hardware .

When I recieved the best gaming monitor it was protected very well in it's packaging and it arrived extremely fast and in perfect condition.

Unlike many other lcd monitors I have read about online, the asus vw246h 24 inch lcd monitor required no extra software to calibrate the colors and the picture looked great right out of the box, one sure sign of a great piece of computer hardware.

If you have read my profile you will also know that I am a pc game enthusiast (you can follow me on Twitter by clicking here pcgamehardware), so having the best gaming monitor that does not ghost or lag was very important to me and this monitor has not let me down at all.

Crysis, Modern Warfare 2 and Dragon Age are only a few of the games I play, and they all look and play great with this monitor.

I have had the best gaming monitor for over a year now, and I can honestly say that I am just as impressed with this monitor today, as I was the day it arrived. Since my wife seldom visits my squidoo lenses, I think it is safe to say that, I will be getting her one of the best gaming monitors for christmas this year.

I shopped around, compared untold monitors side by side. Listed the features and kept going to and from other models. I had initially planned on ordering this from Newegg but their policy is that it has to have more than 8 stuck pixels before it's considered defective. I pay for new and that's what i expect. So no surprise that when my Beautiful 24" Asus monitor was dropped off and absolutely no problems.
You can find a little issue with everything if you look hard enough. This monitor might get complaints from people. However i do gaming, spreadsheets, and of course web browsing. I run a custom 100% hand picked component computer tower. You only get out what you put in. If you have a OEM system, don't expect the images to jump out at you. The price was right, the quality is great, and the Premium Amazon 2 day shipping for $3.99 was a definite plus!!!!
If you are aprehensive about the quality, find someone or a store that carries it and see yourself. However order from Amazon, it's cheaper and customer support and warranty is hassle free!

I went from a Samsung SyncMaster 920WM 19" flat panel lcd to this. I have no regrets what so ever, neither should you when it arrives at your door!

Great monitor for the price. After reading many tech sites, I thought I needed an IPS panel, but this one is great. We have several Dell 22" IPS monitors at work and I can't tell a huge difference. Color is uniform, text is sharp, plenty of room (although not much more then my old 22" WS LCD). All in all, great value.

I do wish I would have bought the 26" version, but I wasn't sure how it would fit on my desk. I may upgrade to it anyways.

This Asus is a great buy.

I almost went with a Samsung monitor because everyone told me that nothing else would measure up. They were wrong. The color is stunning and the controls are easy to use. It switches easily between several modes, however, I think everything looks best in the standard mode. The speakers aren't as terrible as I expected, but I still prefer my CA speakers. Xbox 360 looks great on it. If you're thinking about it, I say go for it!

The Asus VK246H and the Asus VW246H as listed above, are very much the same pieces of computer hardware, with the exception of a built in webcam.

And "wow!" again. It's big, it's bright, it's fast. No dead pixels. The built-in webcam is a nice gadget. The speakers aren't the greatest, but if you're using speakers built into a monitor, you probably don't care about that. The base sticks out the front, which is a little annoying, but it's easily removed and it has VESA mounting holes.

I'm probably going to be buying a second one of these and use it with a TV tuner adapter.

I bought this even though I saw a lot of people complaining about getting the WebCam working. I am happy I did. As part of the install, you must attach the included USB cable to the monitor. This will allow the WebCam to be recognised by the PC. In XP, the WebCam worked just fine without installing any additional software. I decided to try the ASUS software anyhow, and it includes a bunch of nice extras (special effects, overlays, etc...) I am positive that all of the negative reviews regarding the camera had to do with not attaching the USB cable.

The monitor itself is great. Now we play Lego Star Wars II at 1920x1080.

Mounted aspire Revo 3610 on VESA mount holes. Hooked up an old SUN Microphone and velcroed it above the camera(We tend to talk into the camera, anyway! :) Plugged in HDMI for video, sound and USB for webcam and away I go with windows 7. Good packaging and delivery. Documentation included. I don't know about any dead pixels. I don't see any. I did have to buy the HDMI cable separately. Hooked it up with google talk and tested it with my daughter and her MACBOOK. So now I can see my kid when we talk from east coast to west coast. Image is clear and bright. Time will tell, but I'm very pleased with this unit so far. I do set my windows display for 150% because I tend to sit back from the screen to put my legs up on the desk and the keyboard on my lap and my eyes are not what they used to be yet I have absolutely no problems reading screen from about 3-4 feet away. (Side note: atom 330 nettop with nvidia ion chipset is a little slow on the uptake and leaves trails of your image, but that is no reflection on the monitor. My daughter's image from the Quad core MacBook comes in clear, crisp and responsive to movements - no trails)
