This lens is about the beach. Many of us been to the beach before for vacation. Here you will find info about visiting the beach and many products with a beach theme to it. Also you will find products from Zazzle from other Zazzlers along with my own pictures and designs about the beach. A few years ago, I visited Virginia Beach, VA. for my summer vacation. This year we went to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Under The Boardwalk
by The Drifters
Premise
The lyric describes a tryst between a man and his beloved in a seaside town (Coney Island, New York), who plan to privately meet "out of the sun" and out of sight from everyone else under a boardwalk. The instrumentation includes guiro, triangle and violins. The song's chorus is unusual in that it switches from a major to minor key.The opening line of the song references the Drifters' prior hit "Up on the Roof", showing the occasional thermal weakness of the rooftop getaway and setting the stage for an alternate meeting location, under the boardwalk.

Seashell Collecting
We went to Myrtle Beach this year. Seashell collecting was great for us. We brought tons of shells back. Spent early mornings and early evenings roaming the beach picking up shells. Grab a plastic bag and walk the shoreline. You will find them there and when the waves come in and out you will find even more. Had 2 storms while we were there and washed alot of shells up afterwards. We collected different types and varities of them. I am washing them as I do this lens. I have tons of them to do. You should wash out any shells you collect once you get home to remove any remnants of sea creatures. There are many ways to do this, though soaking your shells in a bowl of water with some bleach or other detergent that won't harm their texture or color should work just fine. For shells with many crevices, try a toothpick or small brush.
Well as for the use of them, we are planning to use some of them for our future bathroom. We are doing a beach theme once we get on our feet and buy the remaing products so we can start the project. What about craft projects? Yes, many people use them for crafts also. I discovered some pretty neat craft projects here on the internet. I will post some interesting ones later in this lens.

Teaching Kids About The Beach
In this section you will find lots of coloring pages and activities for teaching kids about the beach. Printable coloring pages and others can be found on the websites. Kids love playing at the beach so why not teach them more about it so they can get the most fun out of the experience. Teach them about seashells. They will have fun collecting all types of shells. Teach them about the ocean animals,like whales, sharks, dolphins, clams, crabs, oysters, shrimp, starfish, I find the Enchanted Learning site that I have listed below to be filled with lots of this information.

Sand castles: Shaping sand into castles or other miniature buildings is a popular beach activity.
Sandbags: These protect against floods and gun fire. The inexpensive bags are easy to transport when empty, and unskilled volunteers can quickly fill them with local sand in emergencies.

Set the Mood
All beaches, whether they border an ocean, lake or sea, are the picture of rest and relaxation. Think back to the last time you visited a beach. What did you see? Pale tan sand, soft blue skies with a few bright white clouds floating by, and aquamarine water as far as the eye can see. Use this image to choose your colors and additional interior design ideas for your beach theme home décor.
Choosing Wall Color
This is the most important part of creating the relaxing mood of the beach. Spend a good amount of time deciding on wall color to be sure that you will be happy with it for years to come.
Pale blues-These blues are so much more interesting then the pastel blues of the 80's and the powder blue of the famously popular tuxedo of the 70's. Go to the paint section of your local home improvement store and you will find a wide selection of pale blue paint samples.
Sandy tans-Think beyond beige. To get a feel for the true color of sand, go to your local beach or at the very least a local playground, fill a jar with sand and bring it home with you. You will notice all the different colors of light and dark tan as well as flecks of white and black. If you don't live near a sandbank, you can find small bags of sand at your local arts and crafts store.
Ultra white-If you decide on white as your wall color, just make sure it is a pure white and not an offshoot of white like eggshell or antique white. Again, at your local home improvement store, take a stroll down the paint aisle and you will see gallon cans of white paint called "Ultra Pure White" -- this is the white you want.

White walls-Paint your trim in either a pale blue or sandy colored tan.

- Any day is good for a day at the beach! I grew up in a lake community and have many treasured memories of the beach. Now and ocean beach would be a whole new experience, I would enjoy collecting shells. Speaking of collecting, you have a nice collection of beach themed merchandise here.
