The airport of Athens in Greece is a beautiful site located in Spata between the towns of Markopoulo, Koropi, Spata and Loutsa, about 20 km east of Athens city centre. Thousands of people visit it every day either to travel towards a destination in Greece or abroad or coming from another airport.Eleftherios Venizelos Airport was developed by public-private partnership and Greece holds 55% of the shares. It is considered one of the most expensive airports in Europe since its restaurants and cafes have to pay a very high rent.

- Important practical information. I also remember the dogs sleeping in the floors and in the corners. It was wonderful, the way the Greeks are with dogs. They were clean as was the airport. It was just cosmopolitan and human at the same time.

- Yes, this one of our favourite airports.
There does need to be another hotel or two at the airport, however.
