ATI HD 5970 review

Ranked #15,917 in Computers & Electronics, #320,246 overall

My review and the Cheapest place to buy the fastest GPU on the market today!

There are a lot of reviews online about the ATI Radeon hd 5970 what I'm going to say won't be surprising for most of you.
This is the best single slot GPU solution on the market today!

Now the pros and cons of this GPU are well known but let's see if I agree to them after testing if for a week and a half.

What strikes you first is the size, it's a long video card it has 30.5cm/12" so you must have a spacious case to fit it, but don't worry, most gaming cases will fit this and if you can afford this card I'm assuming you can afford a good case. So I agree that this is a very long card but I don't think that is a problem.

Another sort of con for this card could be the fan noise. You can barely hear it if you leave it on "auto" even if you play a very demanding game, if however you start playing with the fan speed control, it gets a bit uncomfortable after 50% and at 100% it sounds like a jet taking off. This isn't a problem because if you have decent airflow in your case there is absolutely no need to go above 50% even if you overclock it. I really like the stock cooling system on this card, it's very efficient and the best thing about it is that it exhausts the heat produced by the card out of the case so your other components don't get too hot.
The typical ATI driver problem still persists with this card but keep in mind that the drivers are updated almost every month so you shouldn't have any problems with it. I recommend you don't even use the driver that comes with it, just download the latest driver so you can enjoy the full potential of this great GPU!

Overall the biggest problem with this card is the price, I'm not saying it's overpriced, but you have to be a very enthusiastic gamer or have a fairly big income to afford it. But if you want the best you have to pay for it.

I sadly had to give it back after testing but as I am quite an enthusiastic gamer I will buy it eventually.

Now let me show you a video review done by 3DGAMEMAN and after that I'll show you the specifications and the best place you can buy this monster!
