I just built a gaming computer and choose the ATI Radeon HD 4890 video card. I read a lot about the specifications and some reviews before choosing the ATI Radeon HD 4890. I believe it is the best video card for the money.

The Geforce GTX cards are top performers but more expensive. The ATI Radeon HD 4890 video card will take any game to the max, depending on the motherboard and processor. The 256 bit GDDR5 memory is very fast and makes my Microsoft Flight Simulator X run smoothly with high frame rates.

The ATI Radeon HD 4890 will run hot if there is not sufficient air circulation. When these video cards get too hot they will lock up. I always make sure air comes in from the front of the computer case and exits the rear and lots of it. I have 2 fans in the front, one fan on the top and one in the rear. I also have a card fan that draws hot air from inside the case and forces it out the rear of the case. My ATI Radeon HD 4890 card stays within operating temperatures easily.

There are several manufacturers of the ATI Radeon HD 4890 video card. The best are XFX, Saphire, PowerCooler, ASUS, Diamond, HIS, VisionTek and MSI. Some of the differences are the warranty and the cooling system.

I'm a pilot in mind but cannot afford flight lessons nor flight time so I do the next best thing...Flight Simulation. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004/X and X-plane V9.0 are the best simulation programs available. I love both of them too!!

Flight simulation programs are very graphic and require some beefy hardware and especially a high end graphics card. This is why I chose the ATI Radeon HD 4890 card. It's the top of the line ATI video card and performs extremely well. It competes with Geforce GTX 275 but for $100 less. The ATI Radeon HD 4890 video card really makes x-plane and FS9 turn into reality. The graphics are incredible with lots of detail. Clouds look so real you could reach out and touch them. This video card does everything I need for gaming and sim'ing. It was the best investment for $200.
