All of the suggestions are 100% safe and don't involve the taking of any form of medication.
10 things to reduce ADD/ADHD symptoms.....right now!!!!
And no, none of them include taking Ritalin or any other ADD drugs...
A multi-vitamin is needed for your child's brain to function at it's peak capacity.
2. Supplement with 1,000 2,000mg of high quality fish oil daily.
3. Eliminate caffeine from your child's diet.
Not only should you eliminate obvious sources such as coffee, but be on the lookout for hidden sources in soft drinks and certain types of
medication as well.
4. Intense aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes daily.
This is a must for an ADHD child. Any vigorous physical activity such as swimming, running, tennis, dancing, team sport etc is great for burning off excess energy as well as meeting the child's need for
movement.
5. Add more lean protein and vegetables and reduce the amount of carbohydrates in your child's diet.
Lean protein not only helps a child feel full for longer, it is essential for optimum mental functioning. Vegetables provide all the vitamins and minerals a growing mind and body need.
6. No yelling.
I know this can be hard. 'Many people with ADD are in conflict or excitement seeking, as a means of stimulation. They can be masters at making other
people mad or angry. Do not loose your temper with them. If they get you to explode their unconscious, low energy pre-frontal cortex lights up and they
enjoy it. Never let your anger anger be their medication. They can get addicted to it which is the last thing you need.
7. Turn off the T.V or video games or limit them to more than 30 minutes a day. Enough said.
8. Test ADD kids and adults for learning disabilities.60% of people with ADD have learning disabilities that are misdiagnosed as ADD/HD.
9. Listen to a brainwave entrainment CD before or when the child needs to concentrate. Brainwave entrainment helps your child to focus and concentrate more easily. Find out more by going to

- I think putting kids, especially 3 and 4 year olds, on meds is just not a good idea. Medicine changes a person's personality, and their thought process. I just don't believe this is a disease, there is no medical tests, and where did it come from? We are in an ultra hype society, Ipods, cell phones, the web, texting, flashing lights, Playstations, so when kids have to sit down in a class and be still, they can't. Then they grow up and don't need the meds, what happened? ADD just went away. Well if there is no cure for it, how does it just "go away"? I think it's a cop out to dope up a child. Think of all the lawsuits against pharmacies now, for medicines that were considered "wonder drugs" just a few years ago. Phen-Fen anyone?
I got off track, I was looking up info for someone and find your page, You have done a great job.
