Gday, This lens is about me, Atticus Parker, an Australian teacher, part-time freelance writer, and serial hobbyist.

My Home Town
Qualifications & Experience
I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) majoring in English Literature and Geography. I also have a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education (GradDip).
I currently work as a secondary teacher in Queensland, Australia where I have 10 years experience teaching a range of subjects including English, Geography, History, Social Science and Multimedia.
I have been blogging in my spare time for a couple of years now and wish to start freelance writing on a part time basis.

My Websites
At the moment I have two websites. Below is a description of each one.
- The Leaky Pen
- The Leaky Pen - I am a stationery fiend with a penchant for pencil cases and mechanical pencils. So I started a blog about my addiction. I don't like that word so let's call it an obsession instead. I co-author the blog with two others, Os Wayfarer and Judy.

- Chook Scratch - This is my blog where I write about writing, teaching and the many hobbies in my life.
My Hobbies
Running - I started running to lose weight but I quickly found out that walking is just as effective. Now I run to get fit and to get some 'me' time. I get to think about the day when I go for a run and think about the things I want to do. I always return home renergised.
Writing - I like to write which is probably obvious when you consider I have three blogs and am now writing lens' on Squidoo. Normally I like to write about my interests but one day I might turn my hand to a novel. Who knows.
Stationery - Ever since I was a kid I have loved stationery. There is something about a crisp new writing pad and a pencil case full of writing utensils to fire up the imagination and get your muse talking.
Reading - While I love reading anything from crime novels through to political analysis, my favorite genres are teenage fiction and blogs.

Interests I have ... But They Aren't Hobbies!
My Dog - I have a 60 kilo plus dog who is just an over-sized puppy. He is a Ridgeback crossed with something bigger (who knows what). Harry likes to eat, go for walks, eat, malt everywhere and eat.
Linux - All of my computers run on Linux. My favorite distros are Ubuntu and Linux Mint but I like nothing more than testing out a new distro. www.distrowatch.com is one of my favorite websites.
Chess - A colleague introduced me to chess a couple of years ago and I was a raving addict for a good year. Things have settled down somewhat lately but I still play every fortnight or so.

I Am A Shopaholic Too!
Everyone has an item they really really want. Until recently mine was a pair of Vibram Bikila shoes. I finally saved enough money to get a pair. Now I really want a large leather briefcase from the Saddleback leather Company. You can see the bag below.
