For some reason, I am amazed that you wrote about Attila the Hun - but glad you did. He just seems like such an intense dude! Seriously, I like lenses with good, well-researched content.

As far as western Europe goes Atila had the misfortune of not being from western Europe when he rolled through smacking them around so it isn't so surprising his memory has been, "embellished," over there.

Attila must have had great charisma and leadership skills to drive his people to move and conquer like they did. It's amazing how things just fell apart afterwards, but I do believe they had a major impact on European history, bringing Asian influence to Europe, much of which was lost over the following centuries. It's odd how Marco Polo is credited with discovering China, when peoples from China had discovered Europe close to 1,000 years before. Amazing lens, great images, blessed.

Gosh! I didn't know you'd make such a page! Well, Attila the Hun isn't my favourite historical famous person, however, I love his name and to be honest, when I was pregnant, I hesitated between a few names for my baby and one of them was Attila!
Great lens and, of course, blessed by an angel on Squidoo.

Back again. There was a Back Page! See I was wondering if the back pages would get missed. For my first try at that feature I actually mentioned it to the reader at the end of the Front page.
I know a band that is named Back Pages. Thought it was a good name for a band that plays Tom Petty, Beatles, RollingStones almost anything.

One year I read about Attila in the NatGeo Mag. Surely, you have read all of my lenses by now. I hope they were not too boring. Today I returned a comment and I was hard pressed to think up a comment on the lensmaster's collection. One shouldn't let their lenses get too nichey. Lots to chose from on your list. Thanks, JulieJaguar.

Attila is one of those guys where you've heard the name, but you don't know much about. Why was he hated so much? Is he related to the Mongol people group, who also come from North of China?

Too bad he died so young.

I believe I am a direct descendant of his ferocious companion cat, Bela. My dreams are red at times. And bloodthirsty

Do you also have a lens on Genghis Khan? I understand he was a little ahead of his time on the treatment of women.

Fascinating that A the H would be a leader model. It must be his "Slaughter all your enemies" style of leadership. As I understand it he WAS a noble king to his own people. He was probably no worse than any other to the people's who surrendered to him *before* he attacked.

To those who resited? *Everyone* died. Hence the difference in interpretations.
