ATV Mud Tires

Okay, we've got to start with this one. The largest most aggressive ATV tires ever made is the brand new Silverback made by the Gorilla Axle folks. It comes in one size - HUGE! The more aggressive you go with tires, the less fun riding that machine becomes. Sure, they'll perform outstanding in the mud and leave all them boys with stockers as spectators but when you want to go into the woods they stink. Large deep tread mud tires like Mudzillas, Outlaws, Vampires, Gators are best suited for soft sand, deep mud, and water crossings. It is the purpose for which they were designed and will hold up great if that's all you do with them. The minute they hit pavement they'll look like they've been run through a shredder. Mid range Mud tires are becoming the latest craze in tires including Mudlites, Mud Bugs, Blackwaters, ITP 589, etc. These tires offer a good grip in the mud while not being entirely too rough for other types of trails and riding. These tires are usually more affordable too. OEM type tires can actually surprise you as to what they'll do. These are like the Bighorn Radials, Rawhides, Spider Traks, etc. I've seen people who actually know how to ride take these smaller and less aggressive tires past bikes with much more aggressive tires. The best of both worlds is to keep a set of both mounted up and switch them out when needed.
