For the Tourists
Places to see, things to do
We don't think so, and it all depends on what you enjoy doing but here's some suggestions...
- The Auckland War Memorial Museum has stunning views of the city and visiting exhibitions.
- The Viaduct is the smartest eating area where you go to be seen as much as anything. So long as you can afford the carparking the rest is great.
- Drive out to Piha and take in the stunning scenery, hire a board and surf or just climb Lion Rock. This is one of my favourite places.

Trains: Western Auckland
- Britomart - the central Auckland station with the CBD, ferries, the works.
- Newmarket - the fashion precinct in Auckland. Be seen and spend heaps - shops for every wallet, but it's more fun if its fatter.
- Boston Rd - used by students at Auckland Grammar and St Peters, and visitors to Mt Eden Prison. Close enough to the Hospitals and the Museum as well.
- Mt Eden - but no where near the shops. The adjacent pub is great though.
- Kingsland - think Eden Park, think Rugby
- Morningside - a short stroll to St Lukes shopping centre or to Fowlds Park, but this stop is really just for the locals.
- Baldwin Ave - again just for the locals, but used by students at Marist or Mt Albert Grammar, there's a dairy nearby (for kiddie icecreams) and it's a short walk to Rocket Park which has a great playground.
- Mt Albert - close to the shops (but nothing great there) and Unitec.
- Avondale - out on limb from the shops - a locals only stop.
- New Lynn - stops right beside the large mall and the bus depot so a great hub for getting somewhere else.
- Fruitvale Rd
- Glen Eden - stops at the suburban shops.
- Sunnyvale
- Henderson - stops beside the shopping mall
- Sturges Rd
- Ranui
- Swanson
- Waitakere
