A Journey Is Just the Beginning
I started my auction journey in 2005 and have had a fun time learning the ins and outs. Just recently I stepped up my learning and decided to try to earn an income from auctions instead of just selling for the fun of it.
This page is about my journey, the resources I have found, and the ability to unleash your own eBay auction potential.

I had to really dig in to find out that this may not be the best question. I think the best question is "where do I find things to sell on eBay?"
The answer is all around. Here are a few areas that most experts agree on:
1. Your house - some have said that many people have about $2000 worth of stuff in their own home that would sell well on eBay.
2. Garage sales - Learning how to find your niche may be found in how well you learn to shop garage sales
3. Dropship companies - these are legitimate companies (not the ones who say we have millions of products waiting for you to sell) that will package the product you sell for them, put your name on it, and ship it directly to your customer. Imagine that - I never knew this existed! You do not have to invest in any inventory. I will recommend a site to go to for legit places to find products later in this chapter.
4. Flea markets and estate sales - only for the experienced! Most people you deal with here are professionals who will not let you have a deal (Though there are ways to become partners with such people)
5. Local discount stores - liquidated inventory, big sale items (including buy one get one free), etc.
6. Family and friends - I started by selling my dad's old record albums
7. Wholesale suppliers - you have to be legal to get these, (The site I recommend in #3 is a site for a free eBook that will lay this out better than any I have seen to date).
8. Your own homemade product - Corner the market with your know-how. Maybe you have knowledge about a subject which you can right in book form and sell it. The possibilities are endless. I myself have started down this path and there are mountains of helpful information packets on the web to assist you. You will find some at the end of this book (Jim Cockrum for example).
This is just the tip of the iceberg. You have to get your head wet in order to find the endless streams from which you can locate inventory. I have been to the garage sales but I really do not know how to shop them. In my journey here is the one place I have looked most often to begin finding things for sale which I recommend that you try:
World Wide Brands, Inc. - flat out the best directory of dropship companies and wholesale goods. Not only that, but this is where you will find two excellent and free eBooks to download and will save you a lot of headaches in the future as you look to start a business. This is the only list certified by eBay!
