Aussie Iron Rider

It all began in 2006 with the craziest year of my life. We had six deaths in my family, including my younger brother, my mum was diagnosed with cancer and I had just moved to the US with my husband and three kids. Fortunately, I was able to go home for a week to be with my mum and get an understanding of chemo and spend some time with my youngest brother (age 8) and spent a couple of days with my brother-in-law and best friend of 20 years before returning to the US. It was during that time he showed me the movie "Dust to Glory" and said he wanted to do Baja before my husband and I go back to Australia. Having the same adventurous spirit, my husband spent hours reaseaching the race (which we had never heard of before) to get us where we are today. Initally the idea was to race a car or a buggy, but the brothers ended up deciding they wanted to enter the solo Iron Rider competition on bikes. Warren went with a Honda TRX quad, while Adrian has a Honda XR 400R motorbike. I am not much of a bike nut and it is personally amusing to look at the last 12 months and the hours I have put into researching Baja to be able to put together our website and sponsorship packages. The initial idea was to race once, but we have found being Australian is like being an instant celebrity here in the States so we decided to look for sponsorship support to enable multiple race participation for years to come.
