How do veneers work?
Veneers are very thin laminates that are applied to the front of the teeth to give them a healthy, clean appearance. If your tooth is damaged or decayed, veneers are also helpful for providing a covering to protect the tooth from further damage. A traditional veneer application procedure involves:
Buffing the tooth
Removing a thin layer of the tooth to make room for the veneer
Taking an impression of the tooth
Molding a veneer to fit snugly against the tooth
Bonding the veneer to the tooth
Because traditional veneer application involves slightly reshaping a tooth and bonding the veneer with cement, this procedure is permanent and irreversible.

How can I prevent cavities?
Cavities develop when your tooth decays to the point of producing a small hole. When plaque builds up on a tooth, the starches and sugars from the food you eat can create an acid that will eat away at the enamel. There are two major things you can do in order to not develop a cavity. The first way is to avoid food and drinks that promote tooth decay such as things with high sugar content like sodas and candy. The other method is to have regular dental maintenance like brushing, flossing, and continue to see your dentist for check-ups.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: How Useful is Mouthwash? A: Many people use mouthwash to help fight plaque buildup. While useful for freshening breath and momentarily disrupting plaque, mouthwash should not be seen as an alternative to flossing or brushing. Q: Should I Use a Manual or Electric Toothbrush? A: With either of these options, what is more important is that a person regularly brushes and keeps up regular check- up visits with a dentist Q: Should I get braces? A: For some adults braces, veneers or Invisalign help boost their self esteem and confidence. There are a variety of options available to help to resolve damaged or crooked teeth and to make your smile as beautiful as possible. While traditional braces work for some, others may consider Invisalign braces that offer more discretion. Veneers can also work to improve the look of your teeth by placing tooth- like material over the front of an existing tooth.
