Australian Black Angus Cattle trace their roots back to Aberdeenshire in Scotland. In 1824 eight black cattle known as Fifeshires disembarked in Tasmania to start the "Aberdeen Angus" breed in Australia.

Selective breeding and rigorous standards set by Meat Standards Australia have ensured that Australian Black Angus Beef continue to be one of the finest steaks in the world.

We live inland of Eastern Australia, about 5 hours drive from the coast. This region is where Australia's Great Dividing Range with its rolling hills wear down into the wide open plains of the outback. Many friends and people in the area farm the Australian Black Angus breed because of its suitability to the climate and grazing conditions. Not to mention the ability to turn a tussocky grass clump onto one of the nicest steaks I have eaten!

I personally like the Rib Eye Steak on the bone, cut thick and cooked in the right manner (I learnt that from watching a YouTube video) it has become a favorite with guests at our BBQ's. Served with a green and potato salad or hot mustard coleslaw it is the ducks guts for a great meal.
