Renting a car on vacation is always a popular choice. People like to explore new cities and having a car makes that a lot easier. When you go on a group tour you are restricted by the tour company's guidelines. There are no guidelines but your own when you rent a car to use on vacation. People also rent cars to save on the wear and tear a vacation drive puts on their own car. Some people see it as an investment which will eventually pay off.
