Great Gift Ideas Featuring Amazing Australian Native Flowers

Unique gift ideas featuring Australian native flowers. Like the animals of this continent, Australian native flowers are often unique and beautiful. Isolated as we are, there are many plants and flowers that are native only to our shores.

Scroll down this page for an introduction to just a few of these wonderful plants and their flowers. You will also find them featured on a variety of products from my Zazzle Store It's Only Natural.

Pictured to the left you will see our National Floral Emblem - the Golden Wattle. In springtime this small tree is a mass of golden blooms. Unfortunately some people are allergic to the pollen, as is the case with most wattle variety's, of which there are many. Luckily I'm not one of them! They truly make a magnificent display.

I love our Aussie Natives so much that I have featured some of them on my new Zazzle Store It's Only Natural. Below you will find just a few of my designs. I hope you like them.

Pretty Purple Geralton Wax

The Geralton Wax is a very pretty small bush that is found naturally in Western Australia. It likes a dry climate with free draining soil. Covered in a mass of pinky purple flowers it really is lovely.

Banksia "Golden Candlesticks"

There are many varieties of Banksia. I think this one is one of the most spectacular with flowers around 6 inches tall. They make a striking display. They also have fascinating seedpods, one of which you will see pictured below.

Australian Red Gum Flowers

Gum flowers come in shades of cream, yellow, pink and red. These red flowers are among the largest and look beautiful as they hang in clusters from the branches.

In line with what many others have said, the Banksia seed pod is amazing! Almost looks like a "cross" happened somewhere - but it's characteristic and beautiful - as are all the other flowers - many are similar to those of South Africa. I love the amount of stunning flowers and tokens you've included and thanks for sharing!

The banksia seed pods are very unusual and look like a cross between a pine cone and the seed pods of the jacaranda tree I used to own. Great lens on the very unique flowers and plants of Australia. Thanks for sharing.
