Who is Debbie Macomber?

Debbie Macomber is a woman who writes for other women.

She tells an amazing story, and creates such realistic characters that you find yourself caring about what happens to them, how they'll cope with the obstacles in their path, mourn for their losses, and celebrate the joys in their lives.

You'll find yourself symapathizing with characters whose experiences mirror our own - someone who lost a spouse, or is divorced, or is a teenager struggling to fit into the world.

What I especially enjoy about her writing are the multiple book series that she has written - I love a story that continues to be told, and being able to see the epilogues for characters from prior stories, to see what the next chapter of their lives has in store for them. Below, I have showcased several of her multi-book series that I have enjoyed (or look forward to enjoying!), and that I would like to share with you.

I joined her mailing list, and in the message box told her about my Squidoo lenses about her and her books.

I got an email back thanking me, telling me that we should compare yarn stashes sometime, and telling me that she would be sending me a gift. A couple of weeks later I got a box in the mail with a Debbie Macomber mug, a packet of tea, and 3 packets of seeds with the cover of Susannah's Garden on them. HOW COOL IS THAT!

I'm even more eager now for Twenty Wishes to come out.

The Blossom Street Series

AKA The Knitting Series

This is my favorite series of hers so far, because it combines a great story with knitting. I did another lens just on the first book, The Shop on Blossom Street. You'll want to check this series out for sure!

Dakota Series

This classic series is in the process of being re-released. Book #1 and #2 are the reprints, while Book #3 and Book #4 are the original printings. I'll update the links to the new books as they come out.

Heart of Texas Trilogy

Which is your favorite from the Cedar Cove series?

I love multi-book series, and Debbie has done several. This is one of her longest, currently at 7 books, with the 8th on the way later in 2008, and you can tell which book is first, second, third, etc. by the # in the street address in the title. How clever is that! I always hate not knowing for sure which books are first or last in a series and finding out I'm reading book #3 first - this is a great way to make it very obvious the order they should be read in!

There will also be "A CEDAR COVE CHRISTMAS"! I'll add it to the list as soon as it shows up on Amazon!

I'll add new books as they're released in this awesome series. I'm also including the companion knitting book for the Cedar Cove series!
