Testimonials from Parents
" I cannot tell you how much it means to me and my paralyzed daughter to have this ride-on-toy. She is one of the middle children in a family of seven and when her siblings play outside she was never able to participate. It was heartbreaking to see her stuck inside and cry. She now has a brand new Power Pumper and she is doing great! Other kids in the neighborhood were asking her about her new toy, making her feel like a celebrity. She was so happy and her smile was priceless. My deepest thanks to you and your company for making this happen!"

To whom it may concern,
Hello my name is Carrie Rodarte and I have a seven year old son who has
been diagnosed with autism since age two. As a parent of anyone who has a child with a disability you face many struggles and are always searching for that miracle to cure your child. I have found that through hard work and therapy my Son Bradley has met many expectations he can now talk, make friends, do daily life skills such as get dressed, tie his shoes, and even make his bed, a long with many other things. There are still things that he can't do, or won't do because he does not understand that mechanics of the human body. He does not understand why his muscles feel the way they do after a physical activity. So rather that try again, he would rather not do the activity. Hard work and therapy can only go so far to show him that exercise will make some of the little things easier. Things like hanging on the monkey bars or riding his bike for longer that ten minutes and still needing his training wheels. One thing that I have had a challenging time with is to get my son to push himself physically.
Exercise is something that I have never been able to get my son into until we got a Power Pumper. It has made it fun for him. The children sized Power Pumper was big enough so I could ride in it and show him how it works. For the first time I have seen my son become physically exhausted and still want to continue to play with what was making him tired. His fine motor and gross motor skills have increased dramatically due to the exercise that he has been getting from the Power Pumper. I can see him being able to keep up with the kids he meets at the playground. He is not quite able to do everything I remember being able to do at his age but I see an improvement in his abilities and his confidence. I have noticed the change in the way other kids look at him and include him in their games.
Another reason that I like the Power Pumper so much is that I see My Son play with it without being afraid, he struggles with depth perception so riding a bike or a scooter on the slightest bump in the pavement he will have given up and say that he cannot do it. With the Power Pumper he has the control to stop easily and go smoothly, he can even go over the slight curb of the driveway(for him that is huge). Feeling less anxious is another factor that can save time and create a more appropriate task to meet all of his goals.
Thank you for giving my Son Bradley a tool that he can use that will benefit him in so many ways. My Son has continued to improve in a fun way I wish it could always be like that. Good luck with your product I hope you continue making a difference for many children and adults who continue there fight to live with there disabilities.

Testimonials From Therapists
"Our therapists have been using the Power Pumper in treatment for a year now. Although virtually all the children enjoy the Power Pumper, those with low tone or decreased muscle strength benefit most from it. They are able to independently propel a vehicle for the first time! They can keep up with their peers on tricycles, bicycles and Big Wheels - methods of locomotion which require motor control and coordination beyond their capabilities. As they zoom around the track they are developing increased muscle strength, endurance, proprioceptive feedback, and shoulder girdle stability.... and they thought they were just having fun!

"I have a student in the 2nd grade who is autistic and is not very active. At first, she would not even sit on the Power Pumper. Now she sits in a squat position, her favorite way to sit, and pumps with her arms. She has learned the cause and effect of hand/arm pumping, and does it independently. She has learned that when she runs into the wall she stops and therefore must STEER clear of the wall (motor planning) to continue the action. So she has learned to steer. She truly seems to enjoy the vestibular response, even though she moves very slowly. Now we are trying to teach her to use her feet in order to heighten the vestibular response she receives.
Cons-
1. "Hard to store."
2. "Not sure they are durable for the general education kids."
3. "Many parents want to buy them but they are too expensive at
$500. Any way to make them cheaper and have them available
for the general public?"

To Whom It May Concern:
Re: PowerPumper
I would describe the merits of the PowerPumper as an effective tool in the rehabilitation of children with special needs including Autism to Spina Bifida to Cerebral Palsy. The PowerPumper has been utilized at many respected institutions including the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins, Duke Children's Hospital, and others, to back up these claims.
Reported improvements have been seen in the areas of bilateral coordination, motor coordination, building endurance, muscle tone, posture stability, irectionality, upper and lower extremity strength, organization of the vestibular and roprioceptive and tactile systems, praxis and motor planning, visual motor skills, spatial awareness, regulation of activity level, and social skills.
Therapists see the PowerPumper as something that is not difficult to ride. Kids can do it by themselves. Riding the PowerPumper uses a very simple motion and the user get lots of movement from it. "This has been a great product for our clinic. Kids love it!" --Mellisa Harrington, Neuro Therapeutics, Inc, Oregon City.
Oregon therapists are discovering amazing benefits. Occupational and physical therapists nationwide are discovering the many benefits of adding a PowerPumper to their therapy sessions. The unique design provides movement that strengthens both upper and lower extremities. Clinics say it is one of the most popular mobility devices with children. Therapists love PowerPumper because it gets children excited about doing therapy and produces the results they need.

- Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) often can be reliably detected by age 3. In some cases even earlier than that. Recent studies suggest that kids may eventually be accurately diagnosed by the age of 1 year or even younger. One thing for certain is that if your child shows any of the early warning signs of autism then they should be evaluated by a professional who specializes in autism disorders.
