- Eric, I have honestly no idea. My sister suffers from a severe learning disability. When I was a kid, I felt like my parents just gave up on her. My daughter is 10 and the best student in her class. I always told myself, if I have a kid who needs help, I will never give up on the child.
I think support and seeing in your kid what others don't, is the key. Who is to say that the experience of having a disabled kid should be a curse? Everything is meant to be what it is. No matter how smart or behind your child is never give up on your kid. If you do, your child will feel it and give up as well.
