One of the great things about building your business online is that you have
the potential to reach thousands of people. But what happens when people

When website business owner sets out to build a client list many use what I like to call the set and forget method. A method where the sign-up form is placed on a web site or blog and forgotten. Some visitors may sign up for a newsletter or promotion being offered some..many will not.

1. You should put a 'subscribe link' or 'subscribe box' in your web site. It is advisable to put it on all the pages. Then make sure that it is strategically positioned, meaning it has to be easily located by the visitors. The upper right hand corner of the page would be a good position.

2. Promote your website and promote it even more to make give it more exposure and to get more subscribers.

3. Come up with contests or give away freebies and goodies that will require visitors to give out their email ads to be able to join.

4. Give out information, articles and updates to your clients with your links in it. Make sure that the information will be relevant to the client.

5. Offer free courses to your visitors. This will also help maintain a good relationship with your subscribers.

6. Use your signature also to make your opt-in list expand. Every time you send out messages the link information should be included.

7. Do some networking too. Join some forums or discussions and build relationships with the people there. This way will also be a good way for you to get more contacts and clients.

8. Never over send information to your members. This could cause them o either unsubscribe or just not read your mailings.

Just follow this and you'll see, things can only get better.

The Basic Process

The idea behind building a list can be summed up in the following way:

- Invite people to sign up for your list.

- They sign up using a double opt-in process for best results.

- You provide them with great content and eventually introduce them to
your products or service.

- A certain percentage will buy from you.

You can expect to make $.50 - $1.00 per name each month if you follow the
simple formula continuously. So, if you know you want to make at least
$5000 a month from your list, you'll need as much as 10,000 people on your
list.
However, despite the fact that this may seem easy, there are a lot of
different methods out there for getting subscribers. Some of them will work
really well for you, some may not. Your best bet is to try a variety of things.

Some examples are:

- Using classified ads.

- Putting a sign up box on your site.

- Launching a pay per click campaign.

Those are just a few examples. This ebook will cover a wide variety of

One thing that beginning internet marketers notice is that the sheer volume
of information out there can be overwhelming. Most people recommend that
a beginner at building a list choose one or two methods and focus on those
