How the automatic opening vents work
In the event of a fire, smoke detectors instruct smoke vents to open which allows cool air into the building and allows hot air and smoke to escape, resulting in improved conditions for the occupants to escape and for fire fighters to enter. This could save lives buying occupants precious time to get to safety.Smoke vents are available from our Stardome rooflight / skylight or Thermadome rooflight / skylight ranges to a very wide variety of sizes, opening mechanisms and materials. The smoke vents are wired for simple connection to an existing electrical system or they can be supplied with a full control system for new build installations.

How it all works!
The Therma-vent control panel can be quickly and easily installed. Internal wiring is already completed and tested, and batteries are fitted, minimising room for wiring error.
The Therma-vent Control panel can be installed to operate in two ways:
# A simple centralised 'stand alone' system - whereby the fire service instructs and controls the functioning of the Therma-vent control panel.
# A larger decentralised / 'networked' system with additional Therma-vent control panels - you can install the system to function on the instruction of a fire signal from a manual control point mounted within the fire zone, or a smoke detector.
A centralised 'stand alone' Therma-vent Smoke Ventilation system is pictured above. This particular system has been installed in an escape route staircase. Manual control points activate the OV.
