Landmarks in the invention of Automobiles
Automobile as the word suggests is a mixture of the Greek word 'autos' and 'mobilis' (latin) standing for self movable. An automobile is any vehicle used for transportation that can move itself without being pushed by an external force such as a animal. Automobiles are also called cars. This could have its origin from the word 'carrum' or 'currus' meaning a vehicle having wheels. Also another explanation would be the middle English word "cart". In old French there is a word called 'korrus' which means a wagon. The history of automobiles dates back to many years.
