Avatar vs Real Picture Debate
I use a Real Picture for my Bios and Profile Pictures. I do not use an Avatar (graphic image). Do you use an Avatar or a Real Picture or both? What do you like about using an Avatar vs a Real Picture or vice-versa? Probably a lot of people have used both, at one time or another.
Do you think it's worthwhile to have both an Avatar and a Real Picture? The lensmasters on Squidoo certainly like using either one. If you have had any experiences with either an Avatar or a Real Picture, please share your thoughts.
By the way, are you thinking of updating your Avatar or your Real Picture for your Bios or Profile this year? What's your opinion? Let's get this debate rolling.

My Real Pic Story
~Why I Use a Real Picture Instead of an Avatar
When I first created a Blogspot account, I did simply that. I forgot to upload an avatar or picture. I thought I could just create an account and edit my profile at another time (picture included). I was just keen on trying to play with the modules and learning how to create a blog. Oops!Well, the "folks" at Blogspot froze my account and said I was spam. They said if I did not prove I was a real person within 3 days, then I would be banned. I had to change the Blogspot avatar to a real picture of myself and add more details to my profile. I wasn't able to play with the modules anymore. Geesh!
So I quickly uploaded a real picture and filled in my details in my profile. I sent them an email and said I have uploaded a Real Picture and I have filled in my details in my profile. Look at my Profile Picture. I am a real person. I am not spam. Within a day, Blogspot unfroze my account. So...That's my story and that's why I use a Real Profile Picture.

- I use an avatar for now. I like to let my words speak for me. Maybe in time I will change mine...not just yet. Good debate though.

- I prefer to use a real picture versus an avatar but that's just preference. I really love avatars too. Great lens.

- Real pictures are often more personal, but avatars can be great as well. I use both.

- I think real pictures are more professional; readers would like to know who's work they are reading. I actually just made a lens about profile picture ideas and found this lens through a related page link.
