Avon ANEW Genics: A patented new technology for looking younger

Ranked #4,470 in Fashion & Beauty, #67,094 overall

It's always with you

You probably think about its appearance and condition at least once every day. You may make certain dietary choices in order to improve it. You may have spent a small fortune on it over the course of your lifetime to keep it in good shape. It serves some of the most important functions of your entire body in keeping you protected from disease and injury. And it most certainly has a role in your self-esteem.

It's your skin.

When aging starts showing on your skin

aging skinYou may have begun to notice its decline as early as your mid- or late 20's. You see the loss of elasticity - it's not as firm as before. You start noticing pigment changes. And oh, the dreaded wrinkles, starting with maybe just a few little crinkles around your eyes, and deepened espression lines along your forehead and around your mouth. Maybe you have begun paying better attention to your skincare routine, but you just can't seem to turn the clock back now. It's probably because of your genes, you say to yourself. Is there anything more you can do?

Yes, you can now outsmart the aging process!

In recent years, some very exciting scientific research has uncovered secrets of a "Youth Gene." Avon Products Inc's ANEW built upon this research to discover a link between Youth Gene activity and skin. This same Youth Gene that keeps the body healthy and keeps skin cells acting younger. As we age, Youth Gene activity declines in skin. An increase in this Youth Gene's activity boosts proteins that can help you look younger.

A unique, patented product

Avon is the first skin care brand with YouthGenTM Technology, which is designed to stimulate youth gene activity to help skin cells act younger. Our in-vitro testing showed that stimulating the youth gene resulted in a boost in critical skin components including collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Avon ANEW YouthGenTM technology is patented. Only Avon has it and can use it in their formulations.

Hi Margaret! I'm working on putting up a FAQ page here about Genics, and that question is one I definitely will add. It is VERY common for the ANEW products to produce stinging, burning, redness, or an itching sensation when they are applied. Not all women will experience this, but some will. These are powerful products, designed to get results in a short period of time. The ingredients list is kind of long so I won't copy it here, but go to my Avon site through the link I put in the next-to-last paragraph above these comments, click on either "Shop my Store" or "Shop my e-Brochure"...type Genics into the search box and you will see the Ingredients tab on the product page. Some of the ingredients you see listed will likely be unfamiliar to most, but if we take, for example, the 5th ingredient listed, glycolic acid, that is one that is pretty familiar to a lot of women - glycolic acid chemical peels are a professional facial treatment, and I understand they can actually be a bit rough to put up with, but very effective at changing the texture of the skin. So my point is, some of these ingredients are pretty strong, but they are doing their job to re-texture your skin and lighten discolorations, etc. If your skin breaks out in raised red bumps or welts, I'd say it would sound like an allergic reaction; however, the itching sensation you've stated is quite normal. ANEW products, including Genics, do the same on me. I would suggest dropping back to every other night on Genics as your skin gets a bit more accustomed to it, as well as waiting about 15 minutes after cleansing before you apply Genics. Bear with it, you'll see some great results!

I would like to know about the ingrdients of Avon's Genics. I am a sales rep for Avon and need to know the science and studies related to this "miracle" anti-aging product. My customers are sophisticated, intelligent women and like most of us have tried all sorts of crap. I will understand the science. My customers are already wanting to know what makes this product unique. I'll appreciate information and be suspicious if it's secretive.
    Thank You,
    Michelle Usvolk

Hi Michelle! As a "sales rep for Avon", you have free access to abundant educational resources. These are found in yourAVON.com and its new section entitled "Genics Central," as well as our official e-rep websites. Avon makes full disclosure of its product ingredients not only to reps, but also to the general public as well. Sophisticated and intelligent women will appreciate that.

I'll show you how to look up the ingredients of any product, demonstrating this with my e-rep site :
    1) Click on the tab that says "Shop Now."
    2) On the next page, you will see a Search box in the upper right corner. Enter "Genics" in the box.
    3) Click the link to Genics Night Treatment Cream.
    4) Look a bit lower down for the Ingredients tab.
    5) And there you have the list. Click the link "Read more" to expand the list.

Michelle, if after fully educating yourself on this product you for some reason still feel the information Avon provides is "secretive," then you should address your concerns to Avon. Thanks for your comment.
