Avon Collectible

Avon's Cape Cod collection of pattern glass dinnerware, made from 1975 to 1993, is probably one of the most recognized of the Avon collectibles.

The deep red glass featured lacy, intricate designs, fine background stippling and exquisite brilliance which reflected the excellent craftsmanship of its makers. The pattern for the Avon Cape Cod dishes is reminiscent of the early American pressed glass called "Sandwich Glass".

Shop your local antique shops for pieces from the Cape Cod Collection. You can typically find pieces that are fairly inexpensive. This glassware is so pretty and durable.

The fun part of a hobby such as collecting vintage Avon products, is that it is a relatively inexpensive way to start and build a collection.

You can pick up some nice items at yard or estate sales that are in good condition. Also, check your local antique stores and see what they have in the way of Avon bottles, dolls and jewelry. Or better yet, look way in the back of your closets and see if maybe you already have some Avon products.

As with any collectible, the item will be worth more if it is still in the original container. Get started collecting.
