Jack-O-Lanterns, not just a Halloween afterthought
Jack-O-Lanterns are not a new concept. They have been around for years now. Jack-O-Lanterns used to simply be funny or scary faces carved in the front of a pumpkin and set off with a candle in the middle. Over the years, the art of carving pumpkins have been perfected and reinvented. There are competitions all over the world where people carve the most unique and mind blowing pumpkins that you have ever seen.

Legend of the Jack-O-Lantern
The Jack O Lantern comes from an Irish folk tale. It's the story of Jake, a thief, who made a deal with the devil so his sinful soul won't go to hell when he dies. The devil respected his word, and when Jake died, he didn't go to hell. Problems is, Jake being a bad man, heaven didn't want him.To mock Jack, Satan gave him a piece of ember from Hell, a piece that will never burn out. Jake placed it in a carved turnip (apparently his favorite food) and ended up having to walk the earth for eternity. As most folktales and legends, the tale of Stingy Jake comes in many variations.

- I love this !! i think the predator has to be my fav !! I do it every year and try to out do the ones i did the year b4, this year i did edward and bella from twilight and had great fun after,listening to the teens going by screeching "oh my god its edward " and taking pictures lol
