He is especially feared against melee heroes, where a player of this character can tank and deny all the creeps outside of their tower range. Once Mogul Khan is armed with a blink dagger and teleporting around the map there isn't much anyone can do against this unstoppable orc.

Quick Tips
Battle Hunger only works well early in the game, or to finish off someone who's running later. Watch your enemies as they play against you in the laning phase. If they're constantly last hitting and dodge your attacks well don't bother leveling it. On the other hand, if they don't seem very skilled, you might be able to get a lot of early kills pumping the battle hunger skill all the way up. Try to only use it when the enemy's health is low enough to die to it, or when you'd be able to follow up with a culling blade to weaken them.If you want to play as this character, it's best to wait to see who your opponents pick first. Axe is unstoppable against many, but he fails against caster heroes who can simply nuke him to death unless he's been super fed. The best heroes to use him against are folks like Meepo & others who rely on melee damage.

Item build
The first thing I always try to do while playing him is buy a vanguard. It is extremely helpful while berserker call is running. The huge armor boost makes it so most creeps will likely do low enough damage to be fully absorbed. An old axe guide might recommend two, but they don't stack. Only buy one! A stout shield or poor man shield can do the trick instead if you'd like other items. I then always rush a Kelen dagger of blinking. It makes this hero much more useful in team fights. He can just teleport to the other dota staging area and make everyone attack him instead of using their abilities.

- wtf? basher,buriza,lifesteal? with his attack speed? bfury makes creeps easier to kill but when there are no creeps axe WON'T SPIN! the true build is:

- Axe use his counter helix to kill, so theres no use to buy items like bladefury or stanic, try to buy items that add armor and hp, like shiva`s gurd, assault cuirass, etc. buy blademail if enemy heros have lots of agi heros and does kills in few hits, like troll, ursa, anti, etc. after buying blademail, blink in when enemy hero is with his creeps and do call, activite blademail, the enemy should die really fast, if dosent, use battle hunger and ult to chase him down. xD

- Phase boot, for armor &ms. then hood to counter nuker, vanguard, dagger, talisman of evasion (even if their attacak miss it can make CH too), heart. If the game continue replace hood w/ shiva and vanguard w/ cuiras (you can sell phase for boots of travel, you will need mobility this time to destroy enemy tower). And in your poll why you ask BH or helix first. It must be CH and BC, then stat. Hunger will stop if your enemy kill or deny something. It's easy unless your enemy can't do last hit because he worry about something or not skilled player, and regen make the dmg useless.
There are only three use of hunger:
1) Against Blink Dagger users: Casting BH against a Dagger user can break totally a team combo if you find the blinker hidden behind a tree just waiting for the right moment to go in and kill your entire team.
2) Chasing: Casting BH against a fleeing target won't let him uses potions or blinks.

- I don't think so, but you never know. Pub matches are usually a fun place to try weird things. Players are often so bad it doesn't matter what you buy to win with.

- 3) Finishing a lucky bastard: Sometimes happens of a lucky guy escapes of you with less than 50 HP, so you can just finish him casting a BH an pursueing for some seconds (for the exp).
But remembering: Don't get it more than lv1! Doesn't worths the spent points.

Legend of the Axe
In the war of Humans and Orcs that occured long ago many Orcish warriors were corrupted by demonic influence and became tools of blackest darkness. One such warrior was the leader of the Half-Tribe of the Bloodied Axe Clan; Mogul Kahn. Mogul was slain by human Paladins but mysteriously was seen fighting alongside the Scourge around the time Mannoroth started to command the Orcs in the war against Archimonde.
