What is B2B marketing

What is B2B marketing

B2B marketing:

1. Developed by technological progress
2. Many people involve into buying process and decision making
3. Multistep buying process
4. Longer sales cycle
5. Carefully thought out buying decision based on business issues

One of the biggest difference B2B from B2C buying is the cycle of sales. The business buyers are generally much more knowledgeable about the product or service than a B2C consumer. Business buyers will often spend plenty of time doing researches, analysis, comparings before making a bargain. Wholesale buyers take the risk of a bigger amount of money than a B2C customer

A companies establishing businesses marketing strategy need to focus on building relationships and communications using marketing tools that generate leads that can be nurtured during the sales cycle.

Tips for b2b marketing in the Internet

1. The bases are the same as B2C marketing
Honestly, B2B marketing requires the same marketing fundamentals as B2C. You still need the 4-Ps (product, pricing, promotion and placement) and the 5-Ms (mission, money, message, media and measurement).
However, there are differences in strategy and tactics. This is concerning large part of the differences in product or service pricing and buying cycle.
Generally B2B sales mean a higher price and often require more than one individual to estimate whether purchase or not.

2. Keywords have many meanings
If you promote your business web site in search engines you need to pay attention on what keywords did you pick up. If you have chosen "wrong" words for describing your business you won't get any profit.
In many markets the same keyword can have one meaning to a consumer and another to a business.

For example: "pumps" - it could be shoes for the consumer, however, it could have another interpretation for business - an industrial pump, water pump, etc.
Try to figure out what your customers searching for to avoid misinterpretation

3. Start a Conversation
Start a conversation with your B2B visitors. Download a white paper. Subscribe to an Email Newsletter. Watch an online demo. Register on a b2b marketplaces. Somehow get them in the sales.

4. Consider a website redesign
If your website was designed 3 years ago or even more, it likely needs a website redesign. Traffic can be huge to your site but you still could have no sales. The deal is that your visitors can't find what they are coming for. Make sure you have up to dated web resource which is convenient to use. Ask your mom, friend or co-workers to find something on your site, write a letter or buy and see wheather they easily do that or not.

5. Trace visitor behavior.
You are really familiar with your web site, you know it, and you know how to find it. But your potential customer needs first of all find you, and then make something you made this web resource for.
Therefore the first steep is submitting your products, your business information etc to special b2b marketplaces.

After it become sure that your potential customers do not leave Before they succeed using your site. Using analytics tools (like google analytics) you can trace from which pages users leave your web site and improve those pages.

You can also create a question-area to ask your visitors what they like conserning your web site and what they don't like
