The Truth About High Energy Drinks
Energy drinks are not all created equal.
These sugar-laden drinks typically provide only short bursts of energy and little, if any, nutritional benefit. In fact, from a health standpoint, excess sugar intake has been linked to type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity and heart disease.
bHIP synergistically combines nature's most powerful antioxidants, vitamins and herbal supplements into a Proprietary Energy Formula that provides you with the essential nutrients, amino acids and metabolic enhancers required for optimal energy delivery. The "Energy Blend" antioxidant formula continually combats Free Radical damage associated with Lack of Energy and Muscle Fatigue, Damage & Soreness and PreMature Aging.

Let's Look at some of the common Ingredients of Energy Drinks
Caffeine:
Caffeine is the common denominator in most of the available energy drinks because caffeine is a stimulant. Found in the leaves, seeds or fruit of a number of plants, such as coffee and tea, it is added to a wide range of food and drinks.
The effects of caffeine differ from person to person depending on age, size and general health. Having caffeine only occasionally will result in a different reaction than if you are a regular partaker.
Short term physical effects of caffeine include increased heartbeat, respiration, basal metabolic rate and an increase in stomach acid and urine. Small to medium amounts of caffeine (up to 300mg) can speed up the brain and the central nervous system to make you feel more alert and awake.
Some research indicates that heavy use of caffeine (ie greater than about 350mg or three cups per day) can be linked to high blood pressure and heart disease, osteoporosis, heartburn, ulcers, insomnia and infertility....not good!
Most energy drinks contain a warning on the label indicating that they're not recommended for children, pregnant or lactating women, or people sensitive to caffeine.
bHIP energy drink contains no synthetic caffeine but gets its energy from guarana extract, a natural and healthier form of caffeine, and from vitamins and dietary supplements.
Sugar:
Most energy drinks contain sugar, either as ordinary table sugar (sucrose) or glucose. Sugar is rapidly digested and absorbed into the body, so the kilojoules of energy it provides are quickly made available for physical exertion. However, most of us, especially if we are not exerting ourselves physically, would be much better off without these additional kilojoules.
Would you stir about 12 teaspoons of sugar into your tea or coffee? I doubt you would, but that's what's in a can of RED EYE Classic.
Most energy drinks contain at least 27g of sugar per 8oz can. Those drinks that are advertised as sugar-free usually contain artificial sweeteners which are worse for you than real sugar.
bHIP contains only 2g per 8oz. of sugar
Taurine:
Taurine, found in many energy drinks, is a non-essential amino acid, also known as 2-aminoethanesulfinic acid. It is found at high levels in protein-rich foods, such as meat and fish. Taurine is important in many metabolic processes that take place in the body, particularly in the brain and heart.
It is thought that Taurine may improve athletic performance which is why it is used in many energy drinks.

My recommendations for you.
As a Grandmother with concerns about the health of our future generations I would recommend that you look very carefully at the listed ingredients on all products before consuming them in great quantities.
So OK maybe you don't understand, anyway, what some of the listed ingredients are, but it is not difficult to learn what is safe for you and what is not. There is a lot of information available here and at many other sites.
I'd have no hesitation in recommending bHIP as a great healthy energy drink but remember it is not a good idea for young children to be drinking any kind of energy or sports drink in large quantities.
