Baby Alive Learns Potty Doll Features

With Pros and Cons

Baby Alive Learns to Potty

The baby alive potty doll comes with a diaper, a potty, food packets, a spoon, and other accessories

Pros

# Very realistic
# Doll still works without feeding actual food (just use the spoon and potty)
# Goes into sleep mode when pacifier is put in
# Doll will have "accidents" if it doesn't reach the potty in time
# Doll will have less accidents as she has more successful potty turns.

Cons

# Replacement Diapers are expensive. Use real, but cheap, diapers instead or use cloth diapers (cloth diapers are only recommended if the doll is being used as practice by an adult. For children, using real undies similar to training pants would be the better alternative to buying diapers)
# Given Food packets can stain. Instead, use foods that stain less and are easy to use (water, apple sauce, etc...)
# Doll doesn't give much time to get to the potty. Great for diaper-training, not so great for using as a toy or even potty-training.

Using the Doll for Diaper Changing Training

Baby Alive Learns to Potty Doll Makes Great Practice

Whether it's because you're unsure about your first child, or you're trying to make headway as a babysitter, it's good to get some diaper changing practice.

First of all, put the dry diaper on. This is your first practice.
Practice by feeding the doll its food, or real liquid foods (water, pudding, apple sauce, gravy, etc....)
Then, wait for the doll to have to go. Ignore the potty (you're diaper training, not potty training) and she will have an "accident".
There you go, the diaper is dirty!
Change the diaper with as little spills as possible!

You should consider either using real diapers or cloth diapers (or both. Your real baby may like one more than the other). Not only are using real diapers cheaper than using the official diaper refills, but it's best to practice with what you'll be using.

The Gift of a Potty Doll

Training & Fun by Potty Doll

For Potty Training

Many children have trouble going potty. One way to boost such confidence is to see someone else do it, but I'm sure it'd be awkward to have a real person poop in a potty. Instead, it'd be more efficient to use this doll. A young potty training child will be able to see exactly how a "child" goes potty. It will lead to greater understanding, and less fear, of the potty training process.

Therefore, for potty training purposes, the doll would be great for both boys and girls

For Fun

Of course, maybe it's just a toy that you want to give as a toy. Many children, especially girls, like the idea of playing the parent. There's something about being mommy that many little girls just love - what can we say? It's built into our genes. This doll will definitely bring a realistic experience.

Dolls that poop, but no potties

Diaper Changing Only

Because if all you want is to change diapers, then you don't really need a potty doll! A changing doll would be just fine.

I always look at baby alives in the store, they actually look like pretty cool dolls! I've never thought of using them for diaper changing training before, it sounds like a really good idea! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these dolls. :)

Thank you so much for the blessing.

I think I had one too. I don't remember if it was this particular brand nor this particular model, but I think I had an older one from this or a similar company. Mine could only drink and therefore would only do #1. She couldn't talk, but she could "hold it" so it felt a bit realistic. I had such fun.

What is it about such dolls that make us go nuts when we're so little? :D

I remember this Baby Alive doll- it was what I wanted more than anything for years at Christmas. I think I finally got it at age 8. Many Christmas blessings to you, including an angel blessing and a feature on More November Blessings.
