Can You Safely Stretch Out Your Baby Immunization Schedule?

I guess I had totally forgotten how hectic those first months of having a new baby can be, especially on the mother. I certainly didn't remember the tight baby immunization schedule that is expected by most doctors. I realize they want to make sure that your baby is protected from childhood diseases as quickly as possible, but it sure seems to me like that's a lot of vaccinations all lumped together.

I think I would prefer a more spaced baby immunization schedule. I have been reading a lot about nasty side effects and concerns that other parents have about getting all these shots so closely together. Maybe I need to look into some alternative programs.

Not only did I come home from the hospital with a brand new baby, a lot of cards and flowers, baby supplies, and tons of instructions, but I also was given a very specific baby immunization schedule that I was told I needed to follow carefully. Wow! I had forgotten how many vaccinations little babies usually get during those early weeks and months.

I'm not sure that I like this at all, especially in light of all I have been reading lately about possible side effects from too much too soon. I think I need to have a talk with my doctor about this. Maybe she can put us on a more spaced baby immunization schedule that will still thoroughly protect my little one but not hurt her in the process.

Why Not Relax the Baby Immunization Schedule Just a Bit?

I have become increasingly aware of the recent controversy surrounding baby vaccinations, and it has given me cause to wonder about the general accepted procedures. The normal, rigorous baby immunization schedule does push a lot of vaccines into a tiny little person during those first few weeks and months.

Since I have been researching the matter, I have been considering a new baby immunization schedule that would space doses a bit further apart. As long as the baby is being protected, I don't see why we can't relax a little and limit the possibility of side effects as much as possible. I certainly don't want my babies to suffer from the preventative medicine.
